Not necessarily. My order shows I purchased 5 minutes after they started orders, and mine doesn't show "Prepared for Shipment" yet. My credit card shows pending charges though.
Well, to be fair he said that the ONLY people who had received the status so far were those in that group, not necessarily that EVERYONE in that group has.
I haven't been paying enough attention to the times posted on this thread--are all of us really people who ordered in that time frame? (8:31 EST here.)
I wouldn't worry too much I think Apple is updating order status as we speak. I can't seem to get order status info from Apple right now.Anybody else have this problem ?
My card did not get charged or has a pending charge yet and mine is in a "prepared for shipment" status.

I placed my order about 5:30PM ET on Friday March 12th. So, not one of the early 1st day orders. I'm on the east coast. I wonder if they're prioritizing by Fedex shipping zone with the longer transit times being processed first.

Just got a shipping notification for my ipad. Looks like it's coming by ups. Also my credit card was just charged for the two cases I ordered.
Why do you think that? Did you see a "Z" in the tracking number?
Apple always uses Fed Ex. Well, everything I've ever ordered from Apple has come via Fed Ex. I hope it's not UPS. UPS sucks
They either run off without leaving the package, even though, I'm home, deliver in the evening or "F" up in so many other ways.

Ordered mine in the first 11 minutes and it's still showing "Not Yet Shipped". No worries though, I bet it'll be here on Saturday
I think that shows the high possibility that shipping is being prioritized by shipping zone.

How do you check to see if Saturday delivery is available in an area?
I ordered mine on the 24th and it shows 'Delivers on 4/3' but I doubt it. It's not prepared for shipping yet...
No biggie... Heck, I missed the Snow Leopard first day because I ordered my Family Pack minutes after their cutoff for first day delivery... I was upset because I paid extra shipping but whatever. Somethings you just can't control...

I originally ordered when the pre-orders first went live but recently changed my order to a 32gig on 3/25. My order also still says delivers April 3rd but it has not been "prepared for shipment" yet. I just spoke with a CSR at apple and she said that they have not been given any information that there would be any delay on orders that have a delivery date of April 3rd.
She said order status are constantly being updated but not to worry if it says April 3rd delivery it should be there on April 3rd. She did say that orders that went in on or after 3/26 were not promised the April 3rd delivery.
I'm not really worried but it would suck if I had to wait on it! I guess it's my fault though for waiting so long to change my order.

BTW, mine just changed to "Prepared for Shipment" this morning. Fun to see some people getting tracking numbers.
I honestly wouldn't worry. Up until 2 days ago it was plastered all over Apple's site that you would get your iPad delivered on April 3rd. You were well within the cut-off date. I did the exact same thing you did and upgraded on the 22nd and mine still says "not yet shipped"
