Thank you Avaloncourt, that is what I needed. Now will the new iPad try to sync when I plug it in? Is there a way to preset it with mobileme before I plug it in so there won't be any problems?

On the computer, just be sure you have everything set up to sync with MobileMe; when you plug in the iPad for the first time if you hit the MobileMe logo to put in your MobileMe email address (or old dot.mac email address for us old-timers), that will then sync everything..... Easy-Peasy! Your contacts, bookmarks, calendar entries, everything will show up on your iPad just like that.

To clarify: yes, in the computer, if you haven't already done so, it is necessary to go to MobileMe (photo of a cloud in the settings panel -- I think it's under Sharing -- in your Mac) and organize your settings prior to plugging in your iPad for the first time. This works wonderfully for those of us who have several Macs and for those who have just one Mac and a new iPhone or a new iPad. I can't speak to how this works for Windows people, as that's a different situation altogether.
