I don't think the differences in prices are "justified" either but they all do it. For example, the same digital camera on Tigerdirect.com vs Tigerdirect.ca is 61$ more expensive in Canada (280.00 vs 341.00$), again when you tell them they tell you that the currency is not the only factor and bla bla bla ...

Precisely. You can't have it both ways.

This wouldn't happen because the prices of goods are set in the market where they are sold. We spend US dollars over here, not Euros.

So it is purely coincidental that both the Euro and Dollar price is 129? How about that? Apple favours the US market and makes extra $$$$ out of the European market as the equipment is produced in China. Nothing wrong with this but don't keep finding reasons to justify this. I'll just grit my teeth and order anyway.

Responding to mounting public pressure, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is encouraging retailers to reflect the strong dollar in their pricing and stem the tide of cross-border shopping – an increasingly popular pastime now that Canadians have more purchasing power."

Its unfortunate that Apple will wait until the next product iteration to change prices of hardware. I'd rather buy from Canada than go down to the states to buy Apple stuff... but I may just do that. At the moment Canadians are just buying ripped off. It seems Apple are 'aware' of the parity since 10.5 is $1CA $1US - which is really good.

As for .Mac, they should just change the pricing pretty soon. As some one said above, you don't get enough value for $89US let alone the Canadian price... but thats a different story.
