You've got to be crazy to buy a golden watch which will be replaced after a year or so..

While I agree with not wanting to buy a solid gold watch that has a limited life span in the frame of consumer electronics, the way Apple has designed it makes it seem as if much of the functionality is offloaded to the iPhone which would mean that the watch would have a significantly longer lifespan than the average iDevice.

Bear in mind the Sport edition doesn't lack Sapphire glass just to make it cheaper - it uses Ion-X glass and a different stainless steel back for good reasons - Sapphire glass, despite being very scratch-proof, is much more brittle and wouldn't survive sports impacts as well as Ion-X glass.

If the Sport is the $349 one, then fantastic because that's what I'm getting regardless (health/fitness tracker is my #1 priority).

I'd predict:

Sport - $349

Standard - $499

Edition (if Gold-Plated) - $999

Edition (if Gold) - $3999

I think your predictions are right however, if they gold plate it they would ask for waaay too much at 1k$, I just got a gold plated Armani watch and it was way less than that

Hmm, I'm a little worried that the stainless steel one is gonna be a little too expensive and I don't want the sports edition.

It won't last more than three years in any case, that makes it absurd, a 4000$ watch is meant to last more than your own lifetime.

These "edition" price points seem a little high IMO.
This isn't a Tag Heuer...even if apple hired Patrick Pruniaux.
