Since upgrading to 11.6 yesterday, my print dialogue won't automatically close after the print job is complete. The icon remains in the dock.

I can't find the option to autoquit anymore. I thought you could right click on the icon and select it, but it's not an option.

Anyone else experiencing this and/or know how to fix it?

Hmm, I didn't even realize "autoquit" was an option - mine have always autoquit by default. I just updated to 11.6 last night, but haven't printed anything, so I'll try tonight and report back what happens. I have an HP ENVY 7640 inkjet printer.

Yep, confirmed. It no longer auto-quits :( Will report to Apple. Is your printer an HP as well?

Glad it's not just me! (And that I thought to check here before spending lots of time trying to troubleshoot it myself :)

HP OfficeJet Pro 6975, Mac Mini M1, MacOS Big Sur 11.6 . . . worked fine before the update.

My imageCLASS MF113w Canon is useless after the 11.6 update. Scanner not recognized, only the generic drivers work to print. Latest firmware and software checked and installed.

Sorry to read that; my all-in-one scanner works on 11.6, no generic drivers.
And the icon is here to stay as well. Let's hope for 11.7 .....

Same here and of all people I know who have 11.6 installed. Definitely a bug. Sad that nothing to find in the apple forums.

Ditto. HP Photosmart 6520. Troubleshooting had me uninstall/reinstall printer. No go. Horrible but typical. Apple loves to reinvent the wheel but if they would just fix the little things...

....Apple loves to reinvent the wheel but if they would just fix the little things...
...or stop creating new problems.

Apple seems dedicated now to creating sparkly 'Squirrel!' features in their OSs - presumably to keep their dedicated Macolytes happy - rather than do the hard work in making the core features work as intended.

They occasionally slap some lipstick on an older app in the hope this will distract from their lack of attention to the app otherwise, or end up breaking something else with the addition of who-knows-what - as per this printer icon issue.

Nice to see that 10 years after Jobs death, the Company is maintaining his belief that users continue to be 'holding it wrong'.
