Mojave doesn’t support CUDA mate. Also 1gb isn’t enough to use gpu render plugs. Just so you know.
I just used it to upgrade the firmware :) ordered the RX580 Limited Edition, got it cheap for now, after getting 96GB Ram and 512 GB Samsung 970 Pro, I will do some benchmarks how it peforms, maybe I will get a AMD Pro WX 9100 Card later on, if I buy a PC in this life :) I still can use it, I think osx has much better AMD support then Nvidia

This is critically important, you absolutely need to connect both connectors! Don't use it with just the 8 pin.

Thank you very much for the info, just ordered sata to 6pin cable, should work out right?

With my 980Ti, I was sitting in the same boat. The traditional way used to be Pixlas mod, that is described in one of the forum posts. It works great, but you lose one HDD spot from an HDD bay or the unused second DVD location.

However, since EVGA introduced the Power Link connector bracket, you can use that option instead. It is not an optical feature only, it mainly balances both Power connectors. This way you don't lose a SATA Power port and don't have hanging cabling in the machine. It works flawless, looks good and solves the problem without cabling.
I would recommend it for GPU cards that are in the ballpark from a power perspective. In case of the 580, I guess it's no problem. A very power hungry Vega might be a different story.

You also can see the old Y-cable plug that is no longer used for SATA power.

How many sata ports do I need to connect? 1 or 2 to one 6 pin?

Check the manual. The Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 Limited Edition's manual should be clearly stated that the 6pin is optional for this particular card. So, only connect the 8pin is completely fine. In fact, that's pretty much the recommended config on the cMP (dual mini 6pin -> single 8pin ONLY).

Also, this card has fuzzy fan logic, which means the fan won't spin up until reach certain temperature. This is completely normal again.

My RX580 is the PULSE model, but pretty much the same fan logic. I just check it's parameter. As you can see, its fan speed is 0%, GPU temperature 50C. Very normal for this card.
