Need help understnding...

I just put the finishing touches on a really simple app. It's a tip calculator. It doesn't actually have much purpose other than as an exercise in creating an iPhone-specific app. I'm interested in any feedback about any aspect of it, though I am particularly interested in any feedback about the 'feel' of the app, like if it seems more like an app than a website.

You can view the app (please use an iPhone) at http://donaldhays.com/iphone/tip/

Do apps like these, and I do like it, need to be viewed on the WWW or can they be uploaded to the iPhone as a "real" app... thanks...

They have to be looked through Safari, but once they are uploaded you can leave it open and it will still work as long as it doesn't need to connect to the network (say if you couldn't connect), and I bet if you open multiple tabs you could have a few open and have it each one work like applications.

The split option does work. Are you sure you're using it correctly? The value in the split field should be the number of people you wish to split the bill between (a number like 1, 3, or 10). Upon changing it, the value of the "split" result up top will be updated to show how much money each person should pay.
