Hi all - wondering if anyone else has seen this on their IP7.

When comparing previous iPhone lightning ports to my new iPhone 7, the edges around the port on the 7 appear to be ever-so-slightly raised above the surrounding bezel, such that it protrudes a bit from the body of the phone. If I run my fingers across the bottom of the phone, it does not sit flush against the rest of the body, and instead feels sharp to the touch. None of my previous iPhones' lightning ports have had this protrusion (nor does my fiancée's iPhone 6).

My first thought was that this is a new seal around the edge of the port for waterproofing, but I haven't held another iPhone 7 to compare it against.

Does anyone else's device have this "issue" ?

It's a new phone take to Apple Store they will replace it

I appreciate the reply - I am mostly just wondering if this is unique to my device or if others have seen the same thing.

It is unique to your device..I do not have it feeling that way. Take it to the Apple Store.

I hadn't noticed until I thought just now to specifically check, but mine is protruding a bit as well. You can't see it visually, and I was only able to notice by looking closely and then running a fingernail across it. Highly doubt it's a "flaw" as it's even/parallel with the phone body all the way around.

Mine is a 7 Plus matte black 256gb.

Appreciate the responses!

Sounds fairly similar to mine. Not a deal breaker, but I first noticed it when plugging/unplugging the Lightning EarPods. Should have also mentioned that mine is a 7 Plus Matte Black 128gb.

Mine is ever so slightly protruded, not calling it flush would be a stretch but is there if you are feeling for it. Not really visible. Not sure if this was the same as other phones, but I'd say it's normal and totally fine here. If your phone doesn't have any other issues, and it's not loose, I wouldn't give it any additional thought.

ive noticed that my charging port sticks out a tiny bit. It's not flush with the rest of the bottom. You nail will get stuck of you run in across the bottom. My wife's is flush. Is anyone else'a like this? This kind of concerns me in terms of keeping water resistance

I have the same problem on my I7 Matte. Going tomorrow with Apple appt.

My JB 7+ has a slight protrusion but the rest of the phone is perfect so I'm not going to try my luck with an exchange. Doesn't really bother me.

I had the same issue, I was able to get my swapped out due to the phone making the hissing/static noise. I also have the matte black color. Apple support said the charging port not being flush won't affect the phone in anyway. He also mentioned that he's seeing lots of iphone 7's with the same issue where he never saw it with any other iphones. Makes me feel like these phones were extremely rushed.

I checked a 5s, 6s and a 7. All have a tiny bit of nail grab. What I mean is my nail grabs for a fraction of a second.

I have this as well. 7 Plus. It is ever so slightly stick out. You can tell visually if you look at the phone straight on and look for it.

I have an iPhone 7 plus and just noticed the lightning port is ever so slightly protruding form the body. It is very minimal. You can tell if you run your finger across it and you can also see it if you look the phone straight on very closely. I

Does anyone else encounter this 'issue'? Is it anything I should worry about?

And here on the 7. But it's so minimal, I really won't be wasting anyone's time trying to replace the phone. I had the same thing on my previous iPhone 6, and it presented absolutely zero problems during the time I used it. Noticed it the first time I used the phone, and that was it. Same thing on the current one, really not an issue. For me, at least.

My 5s, 6s and 7 all have it slightly sticking out. Never even thought about it until this thread.

My main concern is for the IP67 rating. The iPhone 6 wasnt water resistant. I understand that there should be no day to day issues or anything, this is mainly a concern for the water staying out
