Like how many apps can take advantage of it? Which ones take most advantage of it?
Thanks.
It only helps you use the iPad to its fullest. In my 1 year of owning an iPad Air 2, ever since they brought doodling and handwritten messages in an iOS update, I really started sending out doodles and handwritten texts more often than I ever imagined, to my loved ones. I started exploring a side of me that was relegated in the archives of time when I was a kid. I would send more self-made graphics, and I really also liked how in Notes app I was missing a tool to write - writing is always really going to be faster. So, I sold it (to get a Pro with Pencil support) and waited for this time when they would have a Pro 9.7 with 4GB, which they made into a 10.5 with 4GB.
You do not mandatorily need to have a Pencil, but that Pencil purchase may open up avenues for your creativity and personal happiness in the smallest but dopest of ways you could ever imagine.
