Thanks for the heads up. Went and downloaded and updated to 6.61 and now have access to all my sensors, not just SSD temp.

I recently bought the app from the Apple store, they did not update it in the app store.. really weird and disappointing..
There's probably a delay of a few days while the submitted update goes through Apple's review process.

Yeah. I have a sneaking suspicion that Istat and all these types of programs impact performance imo if loaded all the time. .

I guess that’s the reason the update frequency can be adjusted (refresh every 4s, 10s, etc.).

I'm curious if anyone else is encountering a problem I'm seeing with iStat Menus. During typical everyday computer use, iStat Menus is fine. And if I start a CPU-intensive operation, like exporting JPEGs from Lightroom, it's still fine. But if I then start ANOTHER CPU-intensive operation (like simultaneously exporting another batch of JPEGs), iStat Menus becomes sluggish and unresponsive – clicking on one of its menubar items results in a spinning beachball for several seconds before the menu drops down (and sometimes much longer). During this time, other menubar items (Apple and third-party) are fine, it's just iStat Menus items that exhibit this behavior.

I was going to install iStatMenus again, then realised that given my new M1 Pro barely makes the fan move and the machine rarely gets warm, I don't care about any of the sensors and fan speed curves, etc. any more.

I have a paid license but.... with the notch (and in general) less crap installed that puts stuff in the menu bar, the better. I've moved a bunch of stuff to control centre and am liking the new minimalist menubar items list I have :)

This. If you want many menu bar items for quick access but don't want to clutter your menu bar . Get Bartender app. It's awesome. Not sponsored but it's so nice. Especially u can use the bartender bar it's gonna extend underneath the bar . It's so nice. Using that you can have a very minimalistic menu bar and quick access to menu bar items when you need it

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I do use Bartender, but this issue occurs with or without it (tried disabling it, just to rule it out as a possible culprit).

I tried to install Bartender yesterday, they ask permission to record your screen... Thanks, but no thanks.

Yep it's a thing even before Monterey I think
But I'm fairly sure it did not occur with my i9 (running Big Sur). I can't say with absolute certainty, because I no longer have that machine to be able to test it, but it's pretty common for me to run simultaneous exports from Lightroom, and I never observed that kind of unresponsiveness with iStat Menus.

I'm on 6.6.1 and I cannot see the watt figure under the sensor menu. It used to be there in my old Intel MacBook Pro.

There aren't nearly as many power-related sensors displayed now on the M1 compared to how it was on Intel...

"Total Power" is really the only one I need though.

That's weird. I don't have the same sensors showing up for my M1 MacBook Air.
