Well now I’ve since run into a new and kind of weird issue. One of my TVs won’t turn on using the iPhone remote. It’ll go to sleep just fine when I put the Apple TV to sleep, but I won’t wake back up when the Apple TV wakes up. This tv does have hdmi-CEC built in, and my other tv wakes up when its connected tv wakes up via the iPhone remote so I’m not sure what’s going on here. I’ve tried turning on and off the “turn on tv with your remote” option to no avail.

Has anyone else had this issue too?

The control Center ATV remote does not control volume via HDMI CES like the remote app does. In the app you can use the iPhone volume buttos... If you're set up support CES and not infrared
The Control Center shortcut does allow
volume control if set up with HDMI-CEC. Tested on two Apple TV 4th Generation models. Also allows power on and power off from the shortcut over HDMI-CEC.

Yes with an older model Panasonic plasma TV. Check your settings, or the TV may simply not support that feature.

Yeah, this was fixed when the remote app was updated after the public release of iOS 11. It did not work on iOS 11 betas prior to that.

Thanks for your input everyone. I’ll try restarting my Apple TV again tonight. It’s just odd how my TV was turning on when I used the Siri remote but not when I used the control center app. So I know it’s capable of being turned on via cec, but just can’t figure out why the control center app is different...
