The 5 doesnt support iOS 11 because the 5 had only a 32 BIT CPU. The 5s supports 64 BIT

The SE or SE 2018 (SE 2) is the better choice.

The 5 was released 2012. Of course it's cheaper than the 2016 SE for a reason. Buy it used if money is your main concern.
But a 5 makes no sense cos it's dead on arrival. Than u just can stay with ur 4
I only considered to get a secondhand 5 for a few months should a smaller X be released this year, which thus seems unlikely. I am only hesitant if I should buy a SE this month or wait until March for a possible update, but I read somewhere that a new SE could also become larger than the current one, in which case I wouldn't be interested

At this junction, I would not purchase the SE yet. Mainly because if Apple holds a spring Keynote in March, that's likely when we could see the iPhone SE 2 debut. Otherwise, it could be updated along side the other iPhones in September 2018.
