same problem here!! :( I've just seen that all my pics taken in the last 2 months have 2 small squiggles .. really pissed :(

have an appointment on Friday at the apple store...

Doesn anyone know a quick and easy way to remove the dots in Lightroom? Is it better to use heal or clone? What's the best technique?

Cheers

went to the apple store.. they swapped out the phone without issue. On the way out, I take a closer look at the new replacement.. it has not squiggles, but smudges on the sensor!! arghhhh..

back into the store and I get another one - this time, its fine. :rolleyes: lets see for how long. The apple dude said its caused by dust getting in where it shouldn't. So, if its a design issue, there's a chance it will happen again in 6>12 months? :(

Seems to be a common proplem, happend to me and the Genius had a 1 second look and then went to get me a new one.

Lol. Same thing happened for me. :(

I had the same issue and just returned it to Apple, no questions asked, they replaced the phone. For those who have a lot of pictures with this issue, you MUST download the app called Retouch (free). It makes fixing this issue SO easy. At least once you read the FAQ file. The icons are totally inscrutable, but once you read the help you will be able to fix these purple spots incredibly easy.

Apple replaced my Iphone 5 no questions asked. I made a a Genius appointment on the Apple site. Went in and within 10 minutes was walking out with a replacement phone. It's a refurbished phone with new screen and battery. Looks and works great and the camera is crystal clear.

Pat is it required to make a an appointment with a genius? The closest apple store is in sacramento and I'll be there sometime next month but not exactly sure what time I'll make it. I've got the exact same issue with my phone can I just walk in and have them swap it for a new one?

I don't know if it's required, but I would suggest making an appointment online. I was literally in and out in about 10 minutes with a new phone. Totally painless experience. In all of my experiences with genius bar, all of have been great except for one visit.

Certainly not required but if you don't, you might wait for an hour as all of those who did make an appointment get served while you wait. You should be able to make the appointment same day. Just get the Apple Store app for your iPhone.

I have also the same problem with my iphone5, i'm from the Philippines but i bought it from Singapore will they still replace my phone?

I'm going to try and see if they can fix it or give me a new one since my 1 year warranty is good till late november. They don't actually give you a "New" iphone 5 but a "refurbished" one I'm assuming?

Will they also transfer everything from your old phone to the "new" one?

I received a brand new iphone 5 replacement. It came repackaged though. I brought my laptop to the store and we backed up and then restored to the new phone. Went very smoothly.

I have the same problem. Went to Genius Bar today and they told me that my phone is out of warranty (about one year and 2 months) and can not do anything about it. Unless I pay $269 for a new iphone5. Does it make sense?

Normally yes, if within warranty period of 1 year.
Contact online apple support for singapore store;
They will direct you to an authorized store for repair / replacement;

Purple spot on Iphone 5

I had the same thing happen yesterday with my 1 month old phone. I went to the Apple store today and within 10 minutes, I was given a new phone. No problems.

As usual, Apple has stood behind their products and swapped out a faulty one. It doesn't happen often but I have to say no other company stands behind their products as well as Apple..
Did it cost money
