Just as a reminder post:

I traced my battery drainage problem to my GoPhone sim without a data plan. Once I removed the sim, the battery would last a few days. Put the sim in, the battery would drop 1% every few minutes.

I would put my real iPhone sim in and the battery life was normal. Put the GoPhone sim back in and the battery life would drop again like above. I tested this on a 1st generation, 3G and the 3GS, same problem on all.

Yea... but if I'm unlocked, this doesn't apply to me or anyone that is unlocked...

The 3G and 3Gs are night and day with battery life. My old 3G wouldn't make it through the day WITHOUT the JB.

So I feel your pain...time to upgrade ;)

My old 3G has much better battery life than 3GS. My 3GS won't able to make through 6 hours with everything off and in sleep mode. The only Cydia apps on it are SBSettings and AppSync.

Once you kill these, they appear once you open sbsettings again-anyone know why?

Because they are backgroundable by default in the iPhone OS. If you kill them, Springboard will just launch them again the next time its scheduled to check for mail, or the next time it checks for voicemail or something of that sort.

are you sure redsn0w isn't causing the battery drain..

my 3G and 3GS seems to be draining 1% every 2 - 3 mins and that is just by moving the homescreen left and right no apps installed.

Gonna do the same thing with purplera1n and see if it happens as well

how are you guys on the 3G's getting this percentage? How do you get the numerical battery?

Re-jailbroak my 3G and havent installed anything apart form cydia and my battery life seems much better than before. I think the main cause was either sbsettings or winterboard.

Really wanna use them again but would pefer a quicker iPhone experince and better battery life :( I miss my themes and having access to quick settings tho :(
