You will inevitably use the screen protector during the lifetime of the device. At some point the device will have outlived its usefulness for performance or other factors. It'll be obsolete to you for some reason and you'll replace it. You'll then remove the screen protector to reveal a perfect screen and it won't matter a bit.

It's not much about preserving a screen until the end of its life, but the ability to swap out a heavily scratched screen protector with a new one 9 months in. If the scratch is directly on the screen you obviously can't do that.

I never put a screen protector on either my iPhone or iPad. Specifically on my iPad, I have never had an issue with scratches on the screen. YMMV though.

Plastic protectors will scratch much more easily than glass, even with the oleophobic coating. At that point you're either frequently replacing them or looking at scratched plastic all the time.
I buy 1 pack.. they last for each ipad.. never have to change them. No scratches at all. Clean the screen with a cloth after each use and put it back in it's case. Never once have I had any scratches on any of my devices and I use most of them for testing purposes so they get a fair amount of use over their lifespan.

Actually when I say Screen Protector I am talking about Tempered Glass and not a Plastic Film. So I may also remove it depending on my experience and feel of use at that moment :) And I will always have an pristine screen back again. I loathe Plastic Films Tempered Glass is the only way to go if someone wants a screen protection on the iPad.
Then why post this topic? Sounds like you've already made up your mind.. just get a glass protector.

If you somehow aren't managing to scratch a plastic screen protector then you've wasted your time installing them. The glass is many, many times harder than that plastic.

When I used a plastic protector years back it looked absolutely terrible after a short time. I've not had any issue with naked iPads.

Maybe I did not specify it in my first post when I started this thread, but when I say screen protector It includes both Plastic Film and Temepered Glass !

But with my kind of usage, how likely do you think are there any chances of getting a scratch ? I am not worried so much about Breakage or Screen Crack ! I am worried about debris and dust causing Scratches. But with an Apple Smart Cover do you think I am covered on that part aswell ? what about till the time the screen is exposed when I am using it or doing something on the screen ?

Look someone said no and u still worry about it. Save yourself the trouble and time for worrying about scratches that may or may not happen; get a screen protector. All glass screen protector are the same they all made in china. There are not many variance between each brand tbh. Get one that have highest ratings on amazon. The only cons is all tempered glass screen protector will reflect more than naked iPad screen because you are covering the oleophobic anti-reflective coating. When you take it out there may be a sticky residual left behind but it will wipe away with a damp cloth.

You have the lowest risk use case aside from just not using it at all. Unless your house has a sandbox in every room just relax.

If you keep asking the same question you'll keep getting the same answers. People using a protector will reply that you need one, but actually never know if they would have gotten a scratch. People not using one will tell you not to use one.

This is pretty much what I wanted to write too - thank you! :)

All I’ll say is accidents happen. A good quality tempered glass protector will still give you the beautiful colours and brightness you’re wanting with some added protection.

Case and point, my one daughter accidentally dropped her air 3 and hit the corner of the table on the way down. Massive crack across.... the screen protector. The actual screen underneath was perfectly fine.

I use screen protectors for my iPads when I can be bothered to apply them, mostly just because fingerprints wipe off easier.

I have never put on one. My previous iPad was with me around the world (smart cover and a separate pouch for carrying it in backpacks), I used it quite heavily, especially for taking notes and marking documents and it just had some minor scratches which were only visible when the display was immaculately clean and you looked at it from certain angels with great lightning - so absolutely negligible. My current pro I got from a guy who put a screen protector on, which was supposed to mimick paper for when writing with the pencil, but honestly I didn't like it and removed after a week. On the other hand, I always put screen protector on my iPhone - to it's just far way more prone to getting scratches being carried in various pockets everyday.

I would prefer being simple due to this is my personal iPad. Thin, slim and light cover for iPad. No screen protector. The only accessories is Apple Pencil, which also has no cover. On the other hand, I have other iPad which used by my kids, fully protection. Bold cover and screen protector.
