Heyall,

ive had my Macbook Air for 10 days now and i find its an incredible machine.

However there is one thing that really bothers me: the quality of the screen. First, like many Macbooks (LED or not), it is unevenly backlit. It starts bright from the top, then darkens, and when you get close to the hinge it gets really bright again (is this the bleeding effect that people talk about ?)

Also i find the vertical viewing angle appaling. You really have to get your eyes aligned in a certain precise way in order to have a correct display of colors. As soon as you move your head up and down slightly you get major shifts i nuances and tint.

This might just be the deal breaker for me. I have the 9C73 display, which is supposed to be quite good too. Yeah its bright, but who cares about bright when a yellow page looks green in the middle and white on top ?!?
Could be defective. I've used just about every "modern" Mac and the screen on the Air (besides being glossy...urgg) is the best screen color wise and brightness wise I've ever seen. It rivals the screen on the 24" imac.

Seem my screen is good

Well, I tried diff. backgrounds after reading this. I don't see I have any problems w/ my Air's screen and I'm very picky person. My old macbook's screen is kind of wash-out compares to the Air's screen.

97C3 for me too. I can't detect any issues with the display. I've had the machine for several months now.

The Air does have the best LED screen I've used on an Apple for me. Although that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best LED screens I've used - which are probably the Sony's. I've had two purchased within 4 months of each other, and neither displayed the graining I'm familiar with on some other machines, and any yellowing isn't anywhere near as bad as the MBP's.
