Got to be a joke, isn’t it??????
I thought it was a parody site at first, but nope, it's real.

I think at this point I would be embarrassed to use this flashy (douchy?) card anywhere. I felt the same when the Chase Sapphire Preferred came out years ago, which was one of the first metal cards. Drew way too much attention back then.

My Coach wallet does not stain or mark up any of my metal cards - Apple Card is identical to the Petal card and it has not discolored. The Amex Plat card has never gotten any damage.

So far so good with metal cards in a Coach leather wallet:

Yup. Coach here for the win. No discoloration thus far.

But also, I know it's a ultimately a card and to try and keep it in pristine condition forever and ever is not a major priority for me.

Realistically, if you use any decent wallet that has dividers, you'll get most of your wear and tear from inserting your card into card readers and swiping than from keeping them in your wallet. But I use one like this and I really like it:

It's the Louis Vuitton Damier Infini Multiple Wallet in Vert Acide. I have the Slender Wallet, which doesn't have the banknote divider and the card holders are symmetrical. Both are very slim and the leather is very soft. It's no longer made in this color, as it was limited to one summer, but the darker colors they offer now are easier to keep clean anyway. They offer complimentary hot stamping of your initials on them too.

I had this wallet in the Damier Graphite Canvas for ten years and just retired it this year...and it was still PLENTY serviceable and in excellent shape despite sitting on it for TEN years - it was well worth the $500ish I paid a decade ago.

I only replaced it because I stopped carrying cash and wanted something more minimalist. Naturally, I went right to another Damier canvas wallet, this time a Pocket Organizer:

I thought about going for the spendier fancier leather this time, but the coated canvas is just that good that it was a no brainer. It looks much nicer and much less plasticky in person.

As far as protecting a credit card, I think this whole idea is stupid. It's a freakin' absolutely worthless credit card ffs.

Not the most elegant solution, but still, card's safety from harmful materials and chemicals is more important to me. Plus, this inelegant solution has a huge benefit: it gives my empty wallet the illusion of fullness, which gives me a huge boost in confidence.
