Questions about iMacs Ambient Light Sensor

Just to make sure we are perfectly clear, this is the location of the ALS:

The screws are circled in red, the ALS in green, and the empty holes in yellow.

Well, I guess since it doesn't turn off in the dark then it is working properly. I won't both to remove it, but it seems like there should be an option to be able to turn it off. Thanks guys, all is good.
