Woot woot, it's working!

Doing the Sierra upgrade helped. I booted single user after the upgrade finished, made backups of the kexts and modified the originals, rebooted and now the system is running with the R9 Fury doing graphics duties.

Running benchmarks now to see. Heaven is currently averaging 80fps, with the GT 120 it did about 3...!

Nice. I'm seeing a 10-20x increase over the GT 120 card. Not bad.

Thanks to the kind people here, at Barefeats, and elsewhere who helped me get it up and running!

So, the CU unlock is next..?

Hey Guys, thought I'd share the full config procedure here to help newcomers, like I was a year ago :)

1. We need to disable SIP (System Integrity Protection) in order to modify system files. Enter Recovery Mode by holding Command ⌘ and R keys at Boot. Open Terminal under Utilities on the top menu and type the following:

csrutil disable
reboot

2. Go to : /system/library/extensions and copy AMDRadeonX4100.kext to your desktop so you can modify it.

3. add the key ID 0x73001002 (Fury/Nano) under the "Baffin" family inside the AMDRadeonX4100.kext (info.plist) under IOPCIMatch. To do this easily, you can get MacKextlight or prefsetter http://www.nightproductions.net. See attached images when I used prefsetter.

4. I found that for the modified kext to work, you need to use kext utility to repair the kext permissions: http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Kext-Utility.shtml

5. Copy back the kext file to it's original location.

6. After all this is done. Reboot. Then, enable the Baffin CUs:
- Open terminal and write this line by line (take the zip file attached and remove the zip extension and put it on your desktop):

cd ~/Desktop

chmod +x enable-baffin-CUs.sh

sudo ./enable-baffin-CUs.sh ellesmere 36

7. Go back and enable SIP protection in recovery mode. Enter Recovery Mode by holding Command ⌘ and R keys at Boot. Open Terminal under Utilities on the top menu and type the following:
csrutil enable
reboot

Done! I still get 20% less performance than in Windows (unigine heaven) but still it's working well.
