I'm on the hunt for a GPU upgrade that will actually fit MacPro 2019's case.

I had already encountered a general consensus that RADEON RX 6900 XT is probably the best one can do for GPU, and was pointed specifically toward the Sapphire NITRO+ AMD version as a solution.

This said, either the specific recommendation was in error or the fan design has since changed, but this version does not fit by nigh half a centimeter despite even manufacturer-supplied specs that claim otherwise.

If anyone can recommend a confirmed solution that is certain to work and actually readily available, I would greatly appreciate it, as it has become clear that I cannot even trust listed specs, anymore.

I have a OEM 6900XT I got when it came out and works fine for years.

If you can find one of these maybe used in good condition go for it.

If you find some other solution there might be issues with the firmware of the card IDK and it may have triple power requirements, which is possible with 3x aux cables on the Mac Pro...and just make sure the card isn't too big for the case.

I have a Sapphire Nitro + 6900 XT in my MP 2019 and it *just barely* fits, as in, a back little part of its frame literally "sits" on the MPX retaining rail. It's able to get in though. It's been a great card.
