I was working on a spreadsheet in Excel and I switched to a YouTube video for like 10 mins or so and when I switched back, the app was no longer in memory. Not just that it also flushed all Safari tabs out of memory too. None of the games are staying in memory after 20 mins. Will this ever be fixed or is it because of the lack of RAM and iOS 13 needs 6gb? i just bought the new iPad Pro a little late and the RAM management just isn’t going too well. It makes me think I should have waited for the 6gb iPads in March if this one is hamstrung by 4gb.

I came here to say the same thing. iPad Pro 2018 here and apps keep reloading. I hope they’ll fix it soon

Yes, 13.2 has definitely caused an issue with this. It’s been widely reported. You can temporarily resolve it by doing a forced reboot of the device. But that will only last a few hours.

You should expand it to iOS too. Both my iPad Pro and ‘test’ iPhone keep reloading apps (mostly Safari) when I lock the device then unlock or when I don’t use a specific app for a short while. 13 is as buggy as 11 was, yikes.

I’m on a phone 7. Just updated 2 days ago from 12. Night and day difference with safari. They need to fix this.

I had thought 11 was the worst I had experienced, and I’ve been on them all since the very first iPhone and ipad. But Apple overachieved in making 13 the all time champion of bad software. I feel that it’s still essentially in beta form, just expanded to a wider base of testers. I’m hoping that by 13.6 I’ll have a stable device again.

Yes safari reloads 99% of the time after locking my 7 for a short while then coming back to it. iOS 12 was so much better at hanging on to safari.

Same here. It’s a terrible bug and it wasn’t present in 13.1.3. We can only hope they fix it very soon.

Is it possible to “update” myself to 13.1.3 if I download the ispw file? I don’t have a backup from 13.1.3.

I have my iPad Pro on 13.1.3 should I wait before updating it to iOS 13.2?

Hopefully some of you will report us when this is fixed, for us to update safely. I want to thank you beforehand.

If Apple is still signing iOS 13.1.3 (I think they still do), then yes, totally, you can do it by downloading the IPWS from a reliable source and you should be able to restore your iPad.

I restored my iPad few days ago, do you know if the IPWS file will still be on my Mac? If so, where? Is it possible to install this image on my iPhone or are different files for iPhones and iPads?

Can I restore 13.2 data to 13.1.3? I went straight from 12.4.1 to 13.2.

I just did. Held option, clicked update selected 13.1.3 ipsw. And successfully “updated” back down to 13.1.3!
However I’m not sure you’ll be able to restore your backup. You’ll have to download your apps and data manually. Just out of curiosity, you had to search for that IPSW on the web? Or is it any way to download it from Apple’s servers? My iPhone 8 is still on iOS 12 and I’d like to restore it to iOS 13.1.3, but I don’t fully trust the IPSW files I find on some websites...

It worked but all my messages disappeared! So I’m back on 13.2 again. I just googled 13.1.3 ipsw. It was the first site at the top. Worked fine.

Well, before trying anything else, I went to my local Apple Store, where all iPad Pros are already updated to iOS 13.2

I did some tests, and indeed, after opening 3 or 4 apps, Safari had to reload all its tabs. This didn’t happen after opening one app, and sometimes opening Pages and Numbers was possible keeping all tabs from Safari, but opening 3 or more apps made Safari lose all its tabs from RAM, and had to reload them all. Just like what happened to my old iPad Air which had only 1GB of memory. Please report it, this and the lack of smart zoom. I’m going to report it as well.

On the other hand, if I want to install iOS 13.1.3 on my iPhone, and grab an IPSW from that website that has all IPSW (IPSW Download), and later I use that file to install iOS 13.1.3 on my iPhone, that’s a safe procedure? I mean, does Apple verify the integrity of the IPSW to check if it has been modified? And if it’s verified and signed, it should be safe, right? If so, maybe I’ll update my iPhone 8 tonight. Thank you.

https://ipsw.me is the place I’ve used for years.

When you click on any Apple Software link on the site, you are redirected to an Apple server. We do not (and never will) mirror these files.

Great, I will trust that site. You know, I’m a bit paranoid of security and I don’t even download apps from outside the App Store, I wouldn’t like to have my privacy compromised or being hacked or such things... But I guess Finder verifies the IPSW before installing it.

Thank you!
