RAM Upgrade

Yes, it's a 2,1 with a Core 2 Duo and Lion. I'm going to try to make it to a Genius Bar next week and see if they can deny or confirm the bad logic board theory. Apple Hardware Test comes up clean . That said, it decided to wake itself from sleep in its bag while I was driving to work... came out burning hot.

I guess if all else fails I can return the RAM and get a SSD instead.

For anyone wondering, my MacBook passed all the tests the Genius Bar threw at it. My Genius said that although she had heard of these MacBooks taking >2GB of RAM, she had no idea why mine won't. I guess I'm just going to return the RAM and conclude that not EVERY MacBook 2,1 will accept more than 2GB.

Also, for anyone curious about replacement of their cracked palm rest: Apple is repairing them for free for MacBooks as early as 2007. My late 2006 isn't eligible for a free palm rest . She tried to override that age requirement with no luck.
