I am very sorry to report that today's 10.15.5 update did not solve this issue, at least not for my config:

Mac Pro (2019)
16c
384 GB RAM
2 x Sonnet m.2 4x4 loaded with Samsung Evo Plus drives in Slots 4 and 5

Disappointing to say the least.

Theophilos, did the OWC with manual reassignment of the PCI pool work for you?

Theophilos ... that's unfortunate but it should be stable swapping between PCIE pools A & B to optimize the distribution of lanes, no?

Yes, it worked beautifully from the first day. I moved both Sonnets to Pool A, which overloaded Pool A at 200%, but when I tested the read/write speeds of the drives, they were not really impacted. I think the only issue is if I copy files from one Sonnet to the other, which I typically don't do.

Interestingly, when I installed 10.15.5 today and switched back to Automatic Bandwidth, I discovered the same panic while sleeping as I said. But when I changed it back to having both on Pool A and restarted, the Mac also panicked when going to its first sleep. I was starting to think that 10.15.5 even broke the fix, but after restarting and trying again, it seems the fix continues to work.

Interesting. I installed the update yesterday and had one issue after installing, which went away promptly after another restart. Also had another update for both XDR displays; seems things have settled down and solid now (with better performance out of the W5700X too)

Do you have any room in slot 3 to put 1 of the two cards? I'm sure you've thought of that, but I wonder if that makes any difference at all vs. 4 and 5

On a side note, you're definitely giving the system a workout with 3x16 slots filled with those two Sonnet cards soaking up the entirety of the x16 slots bandwidth haha :) nice
