same here

I'm having the same problem. As my iPad is still new, I'm going to talk directly to Apple tomorrow afternoon. I'll tell you guys what they answer.

I hope we get a fix soon, its not fun.

Same problem here with being redirected to porn ads or play.google.... Sites. Without funny emails or anything elese from this direction. Tried out few things and after enabling debug consol for safari and disabling javascript it stopped.
I believe its a problem with javascript.
i also had a few issues with youtube on my ipad 2. Now this problems stopped as well. dont know why, maybe no connection at all.
Hope this will give a clue to IT related persons how to stop this problem more conviniently.

You disabled javascript and left it off or did you enable it afterwards?

Is everything working okay if we disable javascript?

Happening here!

Everyone keeps telling me no iPad viruses but it has happened twice in the last couple days from a google search of normal everyday websites. This is not a jail broken iPad and I use it just for normal stuff... It does it once then when I hit the website again it goes to the website. In my case it sent me to the same porn site both times. I have now turned off JavaScript to see if this works. Any news from Apple on this yet?????

Same Problem

Hi, I've got the same problem:

I'm getting random appearing popups (the same popup everytime) on different pages. (9gag, engadget, facebook).

My iPad 3 is not jailbroken.

Worked fine without javascript. Most pages need javascript to work proper so i turned it on some days afterwards. Few days without popups i thought i got rid of this problem but it returned with all the effects. This time i was sure not to browse to sites i dont trust completely.

Same problem

I have the same problem, completely random I'm redirected to those Badoink pages.. It only happens at a dutch newssite..

Strange...

Same problem here

Same problem here. Some links redirect to porn sites like y ouporn .com. It seems to happen only once. When you click again on the link, you arrive to the right website.

It happens on my new iPad and iPhone 4, both without JB. I've deleted both from scratch and reseted my wifi router, since I didn't knew where the problem was, but from time to time (usually once a day) the porn sites keep popping up.

I have the same issue but only when visiting the website www.dailymail.co.uk

I'd like to believe that it is a problem with the mail rather than Safari. Anyone had any luck resolving this?

Sounds like it is code in the ads redirecting your browser. I don't have any issues with any of the sites linked here. I tried loading them and refreshing them over and over to see if I could replicate the issue.

It suddenly struck me that I use filtered opendns which effectively blocks all adverts in the browser.

I manually changed the dns to googles servers and tried the sites again and after about 12 minutes of trying I was redirected without clicking anything.

Switched the dns back to filtered and no issues again.

My wife has the same issue coming from www.dailymail.co.uk
At first it was redirecting to Badoink. I blocked it in my router and hosts file. Now its redirecting to teen-tube.mobi

I'm trying to block but my url filter doesn't recognise .mobi as a domain. any clues?

Can you clarify a little how you switch the dns to filtered? Sorry for the silly ques and thanks in advance.

Just to add my 2cents, I've had this happen twice on 2 seperate iPads, a 1st and 3rd gen. Both on wifi.

I didn't make any details as I was surrounded by the family when it happened and had to click away quickly, all I remember is it was for 'local slags'.

Can't see any trace of the page in the history.

My kids use both iPads so I need to find a solution to this.

If it happens again, I'll try and give feedback on the type of ads.

My wife has encountered this problem over the past few days - iPad 1, no JB, mainly stock apps, no suspect emails.

I've set up the filtered DNS (thanks irnchriz). Hopefully that will prevent it as the iPad is also used by the kids.

Pretty much exact same thing happened to me (but on just one device ipad1). Local slags yup and no history recorded in browser. It happened wen I attempted to goto fantasy.premierleague.com ... In case I may have mispelt it I checked by putting in fantasy and the proper site suggesti comes up from my history and subsequently on clicking into it the next time it went to the official site.

I think it is coming from my router as I set up a new wifi extender yestreday (tenda brand bought from ebay).

I did as per Chris and now hoping the issue is resolved.

Btw this opendns thing is a great idea. The govt should be endorsing this for all families to prevent children encountering porn

Go to this link and sign up for a free account, once you have that it takes you through setting up the filtering.

This has also happened on my 9 yr old daughters ipad2. When you open a page in safari a separate tab opens for 'local slags' that is gross!! I have carried out a full reset but it still happen. I then started using chrome but it happened again. I have now set up open DNS but don't know if that will work. At this point I can't allow my daughter to use the iPad as I have no confidence that it won't happen again. Has anyone managed to solve this yet? What are Apple doing about this??

Just to ad to this thread; it has happened to me as well but the annoying thing is that it is happening on my own website http://junglefrog-cooking.com
I redirects mostly to sites like adultfriendfinder and other porn related sites. The weird thing though is that I am not the only one having this issue on my Ipad. It happens to other people with an Ipad, on exactly the same website. So that would suggest that it is something in my site rather then on my Ipad. However, all scans done by me and by my host (hostgator) have come up with nothing at all. No malware, no virus, no hacks, no nothing.
I'm gonna check out that dnsfilter, as that might be solving the issue for me but it will not prevent anyone else visiting my site from an Ipad of having the same issue!! It annoys me to no end!

It does seem to happen only on safari, although yesterday when using Chrome it did redirect me to the Itunes store. Also annoying but better then a porn site I would say...

Block Porno via your router. All that crap comes up through cookies in websites, nothing to do with apple.

Also Maybe your ISP can block porno and over 18 stuff?

And how would one do that then? Block port 80? then you got nothing at all

I had this same problem, i just turned on the Private navigation in Safari Voila problem solved.

Quick update -I set the dns filter on Sunday and no more redirects -
UNTIL JUST NOW!!! I do not know what to do next!! Someone please help!

Even on twitter app...

Same here, but today earlier I find out it also happened on the twitter app.

I have not idea how this get into my iPad 2 and iPod 4 but is driving me crazy, also, it happened on other 3 networks.

Random

I'm having the same problem here, random pages keep getting directed to 'local slags' porn page. Nothing seems to stop it occuring...... Anyone had any more luck with solving this problem?

Also have this issue on my ipad...it suddenly makes me redirect to a stopid paid porn site. Same page, no new window. I want this fixed!

It happens the most on www.geekologie.com (so be warned) but also on other sites.

Also had it one time on this very forum, just now!

Its always desame site it redirects to. A gross full pictured website. I can link it through pm for research purposes, i wont post it publicly.
