Hey,
Is the RC2 build of Big Sur released yesterday going to be the same as the final build on Thursday?
It is easy to do from the delta update. Is it possible to check the build number from the installer?
There is another way, but it has to do with a temporary folder in your /Library/Updates AS YOU ARE DOWNLOADING IT.So would be a good idea to wait till Thursday? Thanks.
My build...
20B26
That was from software update today with public beta profile activated.
Looks like RC2. It hasn't been publicly released. Is Big Sur Released or this is the RC2.
Ahh! I have worked it out.
I solved the mystery that you presented me with.
You DON'T have 20B26. You have 20B28 just like the rest of us.
SDKBuild means that the build of the computer that created your installer was 20B26. It is not the build of your installer - or the build of your computer.
Another way to check this (i.e., the build of the computer that created the installer for big sur rc2) is:
1. right click the installer
2. Click Show Package Contents
3. Open Contents
4. Open Info.plist
5. Scroll down and you see this:
.
.
.
<string>macosx</string>
<key>DTPlatformVersion</key>
<string>11.0.1</string>
<key>DTSDKBuild</key>
<string>20B26</string>
<key>DTSDKName</key>
<string>macosx11.0internal</string>
.
.
.
By the way, macosx11.0internal means 20B26 has never been released - to anyone - except apple engineers.
001-51046 is build 20A5384c which is beta 9.When trying to download again I got 001-51046 in the Updates folder? @tywebb13
The about window shows the build of your computer, but I would hesitate on what downloaded for product id 001-51046. That's beta 9, not RC2.Thanks for the mate. So when I install this I should see the correct build number in the about window?
That doesn’t install 20B26, it was built on 20B26.
Yes. That's what I told him.That doesn’t install 20B26, it was built on 20B26.
