Hmmm. Ok thanks very much for your help. Think I might wait out for the proper release tomorrow and make the usb out of that one just to be safe.
 
Checked today with Public Beta access enabled and now i'm getting 001-77425 :)
 
Guys - just click on the text in Software Update in System Preferences...it will show you current installed build number.

A very easy way to find what build you are on.

Click the Apple Logo in the top left, select 'About this Mac'

Then Click the System Report Button, then click Software.

Then Click the System Report Button, then click Software.
Even easier, just click on the version text in About this Mac and it'll show the build number. No need to open System Report.

I unenrolled from the beta after I updated to RC2. Yesterday when I checked for updates there was a small, 2.21GB update which took my beta machine from build 20B28 to 20B29 which is the build number for the full/released Big Sur.

I am still enrolled and I got the update to 20B29 this morning.
