So just to follow up none of the RDP programs anchor the screen? I think this would go a long way towards being seamless. I'm veering towards Jump at the moment so will see how it goes. I'm still wondering what the purpose of being able to slide the desktop around though if it's autosized to fit the ipad screen?

Well I figured the only way to find out was to try them all. So far I've tried Jump Desktop and Mocha RDP.

Jump was pretty meh, the display didn't look very good and it didn't draw my desktop background. The mouse feature wasn't very good IMO, you have to painstakingly position the cursor where you want it, not intuitive.

Mocha RDP was a bit better. The display was nicer and it ran a decent amount faster than Jump. The one thing I really liked about Mocha RDP was it has a mouse scroll function, which is exactly what I was looking for. But Mocha does not have sound streaming, which is a definite minus.

I'll probably give desktop rdp a try as well, and may even check out logmein.

The one HUGE gripe that I can't get over with all of these programs is why is the screen not anchored?!?!?!? The program resizes the desktop to fit into the ipads resolution so there is no need to pan around. Yes I know sometimes you need to zoom (although quite honestly I don't see really having to zoom very often), but it should still be anchored so you can't pan it around unless you are zoomed in.

Pretty cool stuff nonetheless.

Maybe the float is a carryover from the iphone programming?

That was my first thought.

One more thing to refine for ipad lol

I use Jaadu RDP. Works very well for me. It has an interesting way of working but makes sense when you use it.

That's what I'm thinking also. It is interesting to note that it seems all of the RDP programs "float" like this.

I went with iTap RDP, primarily for its security features (FIPS, NLA, planned SSH tunneling, etc). Happy with it so far on both iPad and iPhone.
