I just redid the calculations:

My Treo:
$120/ month x 24 months = $2880.76

My I phone:
$90/ month (this includes $39.99 basic + $20 Iphone fee for internet + $10 Text Messaging + $20 generous amount to cover taxes, and any other fee, this is a way overestimate) = $2159.76

So at LEAST I'm saving $721 over a course of 2 yrs, which more than pays for my Iphone....

If you subscribe to AT&T's WiFi service, yeah, it's probably true.

i.e. you can't go giving your account information to 20 of your friends if AT&T limits your use of their hotspots to 150x a month, right?

I wouldn't even concern myself with that. That's for picture messages and media messages, which the iPhone won't even do. Email is just data, so nothing to concern yourself with there.

The only thing to worry about are phone overages. They are MASSIVE with ATT (just got a 288 bill--but I have a family plan), but you really don't have to worry about anything once you figure out what plan you need.

I wouldn't concern myself.
