I wouldn't worry about it too much. Flickr hasn't got long left.

Disclaimer: This is purely my prediction and may not be representative of reality or 'facts'.

Ps. I switched to Instagram a couple months ago because there's far more users and my images are getting far more attention than they were on Flickr. There is a certain group of people who are mega famous on Flickr and their images get all the attention whereas everyone else's are drowned into the cosmos. Instagram gives everyone a fair share with relevant tagging.

I'm not sure that's accurate.

It's accurate of my experience. I was sick of certain users on Flickr getting over 200k views and 100k favourites for images that were just garbage. Whereas you'd be there, uploading quality content, getting measly figures. It gets old fast and that's mostly why I switched. Plus I was tired of having to add every photo to hundreds of groups just to get the views, it was a huge amount of work just uploading one photo and that's not conducive.

Sure, I'm not getting anywhere near those numbers on Instagram now. But I'm getting way more than I was getting on Flickr - with less followers.

All of that aside, Yahoo! is in a bad place right now and Flickr doesn't seem to be competing well.

Yep. It was annoying. I was using it as a private backup service for my family photos. The uploader made it so much easier. Now I don't use it and now use Google Photos backup as well as my OneDrive.
