Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I did not realize you had to be an IT tech to learn how to reboot an iPhone.
[doublepost=1478464658][/doublepost]
Maybe not, but I think the majority of car owners know the oil has to be changed occasionally.

Most people do not know about oil changes, their car tells them plus they have their cars services every year, are you suggesting iPhone owners should pay Apple Genius Bar staff to service their phones every year? And I doubt the majority of iPhone owners have a clue nor care to know how to reboot their phones.

Apple makes a 700 pound phone???

Yes, it's called British POUNDS Sterling. Which I'm guessing you've never heard off?

They do in England.

Well, you either have never visited England or haven't been for several years.

I have none of those problems with my 6s. I never rush to update in the first several hours because I want to make sure there are no killing the phone bugs. You can beta test all you want but there is nothing like running with all users for real.

I assume have looked at which app is using up all the battery?

My 6s+ performs very well on iOS 10. No battery life issues, lag, etc.

On the other hand, my late 2010 MacBook Air lags a bit with Sierra (it's also slow when trying to do more than one thing at a time. Having more than 3 tabs open in Safari is a disaster). I really want to downgrade but I have no experience with that whatsoever, so I don't want to screw anything up. I am relatively new to the Mac world, so I don't have a ton of experience with the advanced side of things.

Shoot me a message. I can assist.

For curiosity's sake, what kind of iPhone maintenance are you talking about (excluding backing up regularly, which some users just don't do because they've not been snake-bit yet)?

If it will not update, you will want to look into investing into a newer computer. Search osSierra on the Mac Appstore. See if you can update

Newer OS will make such an old device slower. It's better to stick to an older version that works fluidly on the system.

Not entirely true. If the OS is up to date and iTunes + 6s is up to date, everything should run smoothly.

I'm talking about only the mac. It's a very old device and any newer version of OS may make it slower. In the world of computing that's a grandad

I imagine the vast majority of iOS device users(everyone who isn't on macrumors) aren't having any trouble with their phones after the upgrade. It's not like the complaining masses here on Macrumors is any kind of a valid sample anyway.

For the record, iOS 10 has been great on all of the devices that me and my immediate family use.

One should back up regularly if there are pics or iMessage of value. Don't have to get snake bit to drop your phone or lose it or run over it with your car and damage it beyond all repair.

Seriously, I see no changes in performances and Battery Life on my 6s+. But on my air 2, app switcher lag hard like it freeze 10-15 seconds before I CAN move the cards

Lol, for some people iOS 10 is like Windows 98, and for others, its like Windows XP. It's either bad or good.

iOS 8.4.1 is Windows 7.iOS 9 was Vista and iOS 10 is Windows 10
*sigh* Poor Windows Vista got a bad wrap for things that it didn't even do.

Anyway, iOS 8, ehh it wasn't the best... iOS 7 was better for me. iOS 9 was the worst version I ever used, It was a turd on my 6S. iOS 6 though, I don't know what it is about it, but it just works wonders, no matter what.

Just saying.. iOS 6 was the last version before the Johny Ive refresh which was if I remember from iOS 7 onwards.

I have Hey Siri off, background refresh off, reduce movement off, auto brightness on, etc.

20+ years of experience with various systems had taught me NOT to "optimize" and "tweak" - it usually makes things worse. Seems counterintuitive, but give it a whirl. The phone (and applies to Macs and especially PCs) mostly know what to do.

My advice is: restore as new and don't tweak anything.

Well, as far as tweaking to get some sort of performance or something like that, perhaps, but as far as tweaking to make things work the way you want them to, that's somewhat different.
