Does everyone else think it should be ok

Yep it’s definitely trashed now.

Chill. They’re just messing with you because of how worried you seem even after assurances that it’s safe. You aren’t going to damage the iPad with a little bit of pressure from a plastic bag of air on the front of the box. The air bag would pop long before the screen would break in that interaction.

Being in the original box is the best state for protecting the iPad because it’s prevented from flexing, and bending force is the only realistic way to break an iPad other than a sudden impact (from dropping the device or dropping something hard directly onto the screen).

Thanks so much for your reply, it wasn’t really a little bit of pressure it felt like quite a lot when I was closing the box but do you still think even with more pressure it’s ok? Thanks again man for the reply you don’t know how much this means to me

my cat sits on mine and my fiancee iPad Pro when it can. we try not let him but sometimes he finds a way.

My fiancee has sat on her iPhone SE with not issue, my fiancee is 18 stone.

I told my girlfriend and she said I could open it if I want to, I’m still worried that it may be damaged from the pressure of closing the brown delivery box which was packed with air packets and I’m scared that it caused the air packets to push in to the box and dent the retail box

Might not be great for the longevity of your relationship to let your girlfriend know you're scared of air packets and cardboard boxes.

This is more exciting than any C.S.I. episode could ever be. I can't wait for the resolution on Christmas morning!
Lol I’m just gonna let it go now, I’ll let you know how it is Christmas morning, I’m sure it’ll be fine I’m just paranoid

I think, once you open it, you should apply more and more pressure until it actually does break, and then you'll know that you can only apply less pressure than that. Then your fears will be quashed.
Lol I agree
[doublepost=1511908910][/doublepost]In all seriousness I think it will be fine it’s just I dropped an iPad once and smashed the screen and since then I’ve been paranoid, I think I’ll be fine though

I decided to open it as I can’t be bothered worrying about it anymore and there are not dents but there is a slight scratch on the the screen it’s about 3mm do you think the pressure of the airbags pushing against the box could have caused this or do you think it was done in the factory it was made, I mean a scratch this small doesn’t really bother me but it’s annoying if I didn’t cause it

Took it to Apple today and exchanged for new one, won’t open this one until Christmas now

Are you sure it just wasn’t the plastic cover that was scratched?
