ordered my 32 g wifi march28 with a ship date of April 18th delivery date April 21st. called to add my girlfriends 32 white wifi to my order to days later with a ship time of April 26th delivery April 29th. on April 8th my black 32g was prepared for shipment. come Monday the 11 it went back to not shipped. called apple to find out what had happed and found out the apple employee who added the white 32g had placed the order wrong hindering process of my black 32g and they would have to resubmit my black 32 g order. giving me a new ship time of may 2 delivery tie may 4th. i was so bummed i called back and they said all they could do was offer a free ipad2 smart cover and upgrade both ipads to 2 day shipping. my girlfinds white 32 g has since been shipped and delivered "a week early" which is cool but mine remains without movement so im guessing no early shipment for me and must be nice for her to rack up all the freebies on my behalf. does anyone have a shipment date of may2nd and seen any movement? because my still hasn't even hit prepared for shipment which i thought it might a bit early seeing my girlfriends shipped a full week early and the estimated times on apple.com have dropped 1-2 weeks??? any info is greatly appropriated.

I ordered a black 32gig iPad on April 10 and my ship date is May 2 also, but I've not had any status change since I ordered.
 
i love how ups, for the first time, decided they didn't want to fly out of hong kong today......... ****ing hate them

(I ran into the same shipping tracking weirdness when I ordered my iPod touch, actually.)

I just hope the tracking magically updates soon so I know if it's coming tomorrow or not. sigh. (I wouldn't object to it showing up today, but that feels extremely unlikely... XD)

Called UPS again - every time they give me a new reply. But here's what the representative said after looking through her system - the package cleared customs in Hong Kong on 04/26/2011 at 09:57PM, and is ready to ship in the next available flight to US. Strangely, this update doesn't show up in the UPS tracking page.

Thought of sharing this info to everyone who might me seeing the same status on the UPS tracking website.

I saw that too. I was just hoping flightAware forgot to update the info.
Go figure. UPS sucks.

Shipped out on Friday, too.

Called UPS, they said it was because of excessive volume from Apple

Called Apple, they looked into it and called me back. Said it tool a long time to clear customs, to apologize for the inconvience, they are sending me a free black leather cover.
 
I'm trying to remain positive but:
Purchase date: April 7
Ship Date: April 28
Original Delivery Date: May 2
New Delivery Date: May 5

I'm going away on May 7 for five days and won't be around to pick it up - it's shipping to work. My cover was a day past the delivery date - if this happens with the ipad itself that's the 6th... pushed one more day and I won't get it until the 12th or so.

My girlfriend doesn't understand... :rolleyes:

I HOPE its just delayed leaving later. If not, tomorrow morning is the next flight out i think.
 
GOOD NEWS!!!!

I just spoke to UPS, and was told that the reason that the website is not being updated is due to some security breach in China, HOWEVER, my package just cleared customs in Louisville Kentucky, and should be delivered in 1 to 2 business days! At least its in the states now! Feel much better!
 
UPS hold-up

I ordered my ipad 2 on April 6th. Got my shipping notice on April 22nd.
At first, UPS had a scheduled delivery of April 25th. NOW, April 26th, my ipad is in Hong Kong, and has been languishing there for over 24 hours. I called UPS and they said that Apple has Exceeded their shipping limit. They could not give me any further information or an expected delivery date.
i am BEYOND frustrated at this point. I need one desperately for work purposes. Meetings are being held up. Silly me, I thought I could walk in a store and buy one a month after it launched, but there are STILL scalpers sending them back to China.
UPS are the real winners in this game.

I hope that's true. Each time I called them they had no clue what was going on.

Well, according to the person i spoke to, thats what their internal tracking system is telilng him........I hope its the truth too.....If its in KY right now, then i dont see why i wouldn't receive it tomorrow.....Fingers crossed

I like how UPS is "blaming" Apple for this. UPS is a company that ships millions of packages each day to every corner of the world and they can't ship a few ten thousand Apple products a day?

I'm thinking out loud here, but I wonder if the roll out of the white iPhone is delaying this week's iPad shipments?
 
My April 6th order went out for delivery today. I guess it missed the earlier delivery truck because 10:30 am came and went and I still don't have my iPad. UPS tracking still says out for delivery, so I'm assuming I will get it sometime this afternoon.

I just checked the flightaware site. UPS63 flight was the one that was supposed to leave hong kong to anchorage this morning. That flight has no info but the same plane now has a scheduled flight from anchorage to Louisville at 3:16 Alaska time. So just maybe it is on it's way.
 
Hi All - I seem to be stuck on that UPS flight, too. Just called Apple - who said it should be delivered today. UPS has come and gone & no ipad! Argh! Maybe tomorrow????

Looks like flight UPS63 finally left Hong Kong........here's hoping that our Ipad2's are on it!
