What? Mine was in New Brunswick (Canada) this morning around noon and now my status just updated saying Departure scan from Chengdu, China at 9:50pm.

Did it get flown back to China?

It's not a big deal, as I will get it soon. But I've never had so many random status updates. I had 3 or 4 all saying Chengdu, then it finally arrives in Canada, now it back in China?

Did you order a Verizon model? It may have been part of the recall.

Nope, Wifi 32gb black model. And I'm in Canada, so would be a different carrier as well if it was 3G.

nevermind. Must have been a UPS glitch because now it says it is in Mount Hope, Ontario. Looks like tomorrow or the next day depending on timing. I'll post the ups image when I'm on my MacBook if the mistake is still listed.

Not Sure what is up with the Ipad order...
Apple's shipment notification includes a button to Pre-sign, but no form pops up, so I can not print one ad i did for the cover... The Ipad shipment UPS Tracker list it as:

Chengdu, China 06/21/2011 6:00 A.M. Departure Scan
EPZ, China 06/18/2011 7:47 P.M. Departure Scan
06/18/2011 6:20 P.M. The service selected is not available to the destination address. / Downgraded, forwarded to consignee, selected service is not available.

But there has been no change in the listing since early this morning. I hope to see it by Friday, but who knows...

My Smart cover traveled from China to Anchorage Alaska, then Kentucky, then back to Anchorage, then finally down to KTN all in about 6 days

Because I was at a bar with my boss, I was trying to sell him on getting me one. Spur of the moment he handed me his credit card and said get two. If I had waited until the next day to go to a store, he most likely would have changed his mind.

So...I ordered online so I could get a FREE (to me) iPad

Mine did the same thing, 2 times, then arrived in Canada. Then departe China a third time, and is now it Canada again :p
 
Mine is so close to me now (less than a 3 hour drive) and yet it hasn't moved all day! I hope it is in Windsor now and just hasn't been scanned or something.

I'll be happy if it comes friday morning, so I don't have to wait over the weekend.

*edit* Also, this screen cap shows what I described earlier; my package was scanned New Brunswick, Canada, and then again in Chengdu, China, and then again in Mount Hope, Canada :p

Seems to me like they are speeding up a little. Not sure if it depends on model though. But I ordered on the 7th, and I've noticed people who ordered around a week later were getting theirs shipped out on the same day mine did.

The tracker has finally moved :). I called apple customer service and the very kind lady told me that I should have nothing to worry about and it WILL be here by tomorrow. I knew it would be here by Friday. Finally some clarity on this subject.
 
Mine shipped. shipped in 6 days, when i was originally told 1-2 weeks. Its due in way day earlier than the earliest predicted date.

It would appear that Apple is using UPS's World Ease logistics for current shipments of iPads, where large numbers of the same products are grouped together in shipments, to make it faster for things to clear customs. And it's probably cheaper on their end, too.

I dont know. Both of my shipments are on fedex. also something interesting, I ordered two ipads, and they each have their own tracking number. I assumed they would be in the same box....
 
What is going on :( I have a similar issue to some of you guys. Mine has left China now for a third time. The difference is that mine has also been scanned in CANADA twice, before then leaving China again!

I mainly just want to know what is going on. I was expecting it last tuesday or wednesday. Then I was expecting it by today or tomorrow. Now I doubt I will get it before the weekend. Who should I be calling to clarify? Apple or UPS?
