Arms length

Any ergnomic specialist will tell you that the monitor should be arms length away from your eyes so reach your arm and make sure your fingers are barely touching the monitor.

Also, the TOP of the screen should be level with your eyes, so either adjust your chair height, or get an adjustable stand and adjust the height until the top of the screen is level with your eyes.
This is great. I hadn't read this specific recommendation before, but I just checked and this happens to be pretty much the setup I've come to on my own, just based on personal comfort.

Figured I’d piggy back my question here since it’s about distance. My first IMac, do most of you find that’s you ended up just buying a larger desk to create the safe space ?? Debating this now
I have found that a nesting desk provides adjustable distance, lets me keep my keyboard a little lower (another common ergonomic recommendation) and is pretty compact in the room, to boot.

Basically this below, but imagine an iMac 5K in place of that little bookshelf and comically tiny monitor. The thing I really like is that when it's all pushed in, your keyboard and mouse are hidden and you just have a clean desktop. I think I got mine from Wayfair or maybe World Market.
