Does Redsn0w work with PPC or just Intel?

Just Intel. MuscleNerd posted something about trying to port it to PPC, but nothing's come of it yet. For future reference, x86 is shorthand for Intel; so if something is listed as "Mac OSX x86" it will only work on Intel-based Macs.

sorry; the geek in me is coming out.

x86 is the actual specification for the chipset, not shorthand for Intel. AMD, Cyrix, and a few others also made CPUs using the x86 spec. It's the spec and conformities to it that allow me to use redsn0w and others on my AMD-based PC, and others on their AMD based hackint0sh. If you really wanted to get into it, all Intel-based Macs use the x86_64 spec, not x86, as all of the CPUs are 64bit.

BL.

You are, of course, right. But for the purposes of the OP, who is clearly not the geek that you or I are, x86 = Intel. I didn't really feel like getting into the history of the 8086 processor and the development of x86-64 by AMD. While we're being pedantic, though, I would point out that the original CoreDuo used in the first Intel Macbooks did not support x86-64.
