im using the most recent files, i tried today jan 25th 2009. I have a 3gs, my serial shows a week 30 (3gs) iphone, so i selected "no" when they asked if i had a newer model. Then i followed the instructions, power off my phone, hold on the home button while pluging the usb, i saw the itunes logo, and then my screen went black...

i will re-download every single files, if it doesnt work, im switching to blackrain :(

Still giving me grief...

As suggested the latest beta is definitely the one to use. I've had much more success with it. No blank screen as with the previous beta. I get the right JB icons.

Problem is that once the process is complete. the phone goes straight back into recovery mode. and needs a full restore.

I'll give it another couple of goes. I'm following the directions pretty closely.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to try downloading and working of a fresh .ipsw file

I always run these tools from the desktop. Seems to keep issues from happening.

I have an iphone 3GS (not the late version) and I have a PC running Windows 7 - 64 bit. Last night I got the frozen apple logo issue on my phone. I had to restore via iTunes. I was crunched for time, so regrettably I restored to the 3.1.2 ipsw from Apple (instead of restoring to a Pwned version).

After the restore to 3.1.2 official firmware, I ran redsn0w 0.9 beta 3 to restore my jailbreak. I put my phone in restore mode and redsn0w worked perfectly.

I haven't used my phone much yet today, but it appears everything is as I left it before the frozen logo issue.

No issues for me with Redsn0w 0.9.

Except that you now have the 5.11.07 baseband and no longer can use the ultrasn0w unlock.

That was my regret about using the official Apple IPSW. However, my phone service is paid for by my company and we use AT&T. So, losing the unlock wasn't too much of a concern for me other than resale value of my phone when I upgrade to the new iPhone.

This has somewhat to do with this but, I am trying to look for the regular boot screen, I put it on verbose boot, but I dont know if I can put it back to normal. And if I can, can you tell me how, if you can't then can someone give me the regular boot screen.

I put it on verbose boot, but I dont know if I can put it back to normal.

I believe you just re-run redsn0w on it, and select "Already pwned" but NONE of the other checkboxes (you know, leave "verbose boot" unchecked), and let it do its thing.

I will add this as a "possible" error caused by Redsn0w beta.

Several days ago, I used Redsn0w 0.9 beta to change the boot logo on my 3GS (I have the old bootrom). I made sure to check the "already pwned" box and uncheck the "Install Cydia" box.

I ran Redsn0w from my MacBook using SL 10.6.2.

Shortly afterward I ran Cydia and realized that Cydia was not recognizing which packages I had installed. Only my repos were showing under Manage/Packages.

Also, PkgBackup was not reading the installed packages.

I had not made any other additions, deletions or modifications to the phone other than using Redsn0w.

I have communicated with MuscleNerd and he indicated unless I re-installed Cydia over top of my existing Cydia app, that he has not heard of this issue from anyone else, so time will tell, I guess.

Just info at this point.

I was unable to correct this after using every option I knew or could research. Had to restore and re-jailbreak. All is fine now.
