Ditto

Got mine today, looks just like new. Ive bought several refurb ipods and a macbook and all look just like brand new, plus have same warranty. So why not save some money??

What kind of box did it come in with? Original box? White box?

Few pics I took of my unboxing. Was too excited to get activated to take many more.

And just wanted to show that prepaid is still doable. Think there was some question if you could still do this. You have to pick one of the regular plans to begin with. I picked the 59.99 one. Then I filled in all my info, used 999-99-9999 as the social, and when it went through the credit check it came back and said either I needed a deposit or select a gophone plan.

So if you have any question about a refurb, take it from me, its as good as new, only previously used :)

edit - the pics of the phone right out of the box look like the screen has scratches. There was a plastic sheath over the phone, just like there is on a new ipod. So there werent actually scratches on the screen.

Yes, but will they work the same after a few days/weeks. I would suggest making sure all the sensors on the iphone are working correctly ... tilt/proximity..etc. I had a brand new unit that acted up so I returned it. Maybe one of you lucky guys will get it. :)

What do you think they do, just repackage broke ones and sell as refurbs???? Its amazing some of you ppl think refurbs are junk. From their very site:

Guaranteed Apple quality.

Before we put a pre-owned Mac, iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV up for sale in Special Deals, it undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process to make sure it's up to Apple's tough quality standards. We back it with our standard one-year limited warranty. And you have the option of purchasing an AppleCare Protection Plan for it.

If you folks think paying an extra $100 gives you "peace of mind", go right ahead and pay it. Funny thing is, you DID pay an extra $100 and had to return it anyway.

ha ha ha ha!!!!

I wonder if anyone ordering the 4GB got the 8 GB. I've twice gotten bonus RAM on a refurb MacBook... it could happen. :D:D

I hear that, I wish they had refurbs available back when I got mine.

Better than brand new - immaculate AND fully tested...

I was gong to post earlier, but I was so enthralled with my new iPhone that I forgot about this thread. :)

I ordered the refurbished 4 Gig model on Monday (8/27) at 9:00 am.
At 8:00 pm, I received an e-mail from Apple stating that the phone had shipped,
with an scheduled delivery of 8/28. I checked the Fed Ex site the next day
and saw that it had been changed to the 28th (it arrived 30 minutes too late
to make it on the delivery truck, which leaves at 5:30 am). It arrived on the 28th.

This thing is immaculate! There is no evidence whatsoever that this thing had ever
been touched; the screen is pristine, as is the chrome around the screen (which
is said to scratch fairly easily. I gotta say, the iPhone is well worth all the hype!

Got my refurb iPhone

I got my iphone on wed, The phone is perfect. no scratches or anything. I'm So glad i waited and paid $100 less.

Im gonna get one and leave it in box to have for a spare.

If I may ask: why? It's only going to sit there and collect dust, the battery's going to age, and it'll be of little benefit to you.

If you break your iPhone, you can just pay the $249 to repair it and $30 to rent a loaner. Even at $280, it's cheaper than getting a refurb and letting it sit there.
