If we see a redesigned MBP at WWDC (which I fully expect), or at least one that includes USB-C with TB3 (can't imagine that NOT happening), then I also fully expect USB-C w/TB3 to proliferate throughout the Mac lineup following its intro on the new MBP's, similar to how it was rolled out originally in 2011. Between that, the massive GPU improvements due to the new 14/16nm processes, and the (nearly) 4 year old design of the current iMac, I think we'll see new iMacs in the fall, probably with Kaby Lake, that will be a significant advance worth waiting for; something that will give a sense of future-proofing.

you should wait, next gpu will be polaris or pascal,i think at least 60% boost, you will get usb-c with thunderbolt 3 for 4k@60hz external monitor, DDR4 Ram

Computex 2016 is ongoing!

Intel has just confirmed that Kaby Lake processors will go into production this month! I unfortunately only have a non-english language source for this, but I'm sure the information is out there on various other sites. No exact release date for the CPUs is mentioned however.

Really good news imo regardless - certainly setting the stage (or upping the chances) for iMac updates this year also from CPU perspective (which some have said is a prequisite for Apple to update their machines).

All the new 27" iMacs has the Skylake chips in them.

6th generation Intel Core (m)architecture (TM) = Sky Lake
7th generation Intel Core (m)architecture (TM) = Kaby Lake

I'm not so sure about Kaby Lake in Apple products this year. Maybe only the Core M ones in Macbooks. At Computex the Core M flavour was in the wild.

As usual iMac updates not until Sep/October.

The moment you buy a computer you're always outdated, so buy one when you feel you need one.
