Its not a bug. Its a current limitation.. and its not a delay your experiencing... it actually wont load the picture until the list stops scrolling. To speed up performance the contact pictures are not left in cache memory so when you scroll them off the screen they are cleared from memory and have to load again.. we attempted to leave them loaded in memory when in an early beta and it made scrolling the convo list very sluggish and lagged... so that was a sacrifice we made for performance.

In the next update we will see if we can load the pictures better and faster, but in the meantime this is the best we could offer.

Oh ok, was just wondering. I'm going to try it out for a few more days but im 99% sure im going to buy it.

This app is simply awesome.

If your trying to run the trial it requires you to have an internet connection to download the trial license... without one it wont work..

or if you have a previous beta version installed you must uninstall it.
then remove the beta repo
then install the official version from the bigboss repo

Hmm Ill give that a shot. Can you remind me waht the beta repo is, I have a ton installed.

So I don't see any beta repos that I recall it coming from. Anyways, the problem Im having (in more detail) is that when I installed 3.0 it replaced the beta icon. But 3.0 crashes when I launch it. And when I recieve a text message, the beta is the one that displays.

If I uninstall 3.0, the beta still runs despite Cydia saying I dont have any version of Ireal SMS installed.

Any ideas? Is there a different way to rid my device of iRealSMS so I can install from scratch?

Nvm, I figured it out. Had to reinstall the old version, then uninstall it. Then install 3.0. Woo hoo. this rocks!

A question, in regards to theming. When a SMS prompt pops up, it looks like my theming that worked on 2.0 is lost. Have you changed the names, or added more elements? What would they be?

Thanks.

I love it otherwise.

question - how can i default so that my options are "close, view and reply" instead of close, view and call?

What part of the theme is missing?
We have a great community that has already created a couple themes for the QR/QS which may be part of the theme your using.. your free to check it out!

Thanks for the update - it's much appreciated!

Thank you so much for this application but please pardon my ignorance.

I have downloaded Version 3.0 and under the 'Basic and UI' section my default SMS app is set to iRealSMS.

When I get a text I use this application. Does this mean that I'm not using the texts in my messaging plan for both receiving and sending? Therefore this application replaces text messaging plans all together?

I wanted to make sure that there is no limitation on the amount of texts if I purchase the program and I'm curious how the application exactly works around sending a message for free? (Meaning does it matter if I'm on 3G, EVDO, or even wifi to send out these messages?).

Final question would be why would you ever purchase this application AND have a text messaging plan with your cell phone provider. So far I am really liking the application but I want to make sure I am understanding its exact functions (If its supposed to improve the messaging experience or offer free messaging?).

Edit: Nevermind, you still need your existing messaging plan, this app just replaces the experience of the current iPhone messaging. Thanks, I get it :) - I feel like texting is already enough money and don't send international texts so I don't really see a need to purchase this app just for the features. Don't text enough :)

Well it certainly is not for everyone... mainly for avid text users such as myself... this stands to be super convenient. Exiting safari or cydia or Beejive...or any app really to answer a text message is not an option sometimes... and for those users this app is tailored to. But Thanks for at least taking the time to try the app via its 10 day trial.

I'd like to see seconds added to the timestamps but otherwise it's a really great app. Keep up the great work!

Reznor,
Question for you. I have a theme on and its not working for ireal, at least part of it. When I open up quick reply to type a message, that pop up is themed. When I receive a message though, that pop up is not themed. What is the name of that pop up so I can apply the proper ui element?

Thanks

is there any way to determine how long the quick reply SMS box stays on the screen? It pops up for like 4 seconds and then disappears. I'd like it to stay longer-at least 10 seconds so I can have a chance to answer it.

Look in the settings, one of the functions lets you change how long it stays up until it dims.

The QuickReply uses its own alertview background... we had to develop a wider one to fit the contact pic in it... as well as to make the new landscape setup... these are themeable via winterboard as well... here is a thread dedicated to just that
