It is disappointing how in this day and age of images being so critical to consumers (and businesses) that so many .MOV files get corrupted. If as may .doc or .xls files went bad regularly businesses would fail all around. In any case, I have .mov files from various apps on the Mac and from Nikon and other cameras that played fine at different times in the past and then one day just would not open and ONLY play audio. That also suggests it is a consistent problem which someone somewhere in the industry needs to solve. I have several precious lifetime memories clips that are corrupted between 2007 and even now. Found this tools discussion very useful. Alas the Repair Tool crashes on Yosemite. I shared the crash report with the developer. My thanks to all who contribute to help each other.

This may be what you are looking for: http://modmyi.com/forums/windows-sp...ting-mov-files-corrupt-cycorder-videos-3.html

Here is a working version of the repair script:
repair_cycorder_mov.zip

It is still a bit messy, but it seems to work well enough.

Please let us know if it work for you! If you find the script useful, feel free to buy me some beer: Donate!

I hope it works out for folks!

I have tried all this including downloading python. nothing is working for me. Is this script conpatable with windows 10?

Long story short, I recorded a movie in iMovie, somehow something got corrupted (I'm not sure what happened) and now I'm left with a 200mb .mov file. I know there's something there, even though it's corrupted and I can't open it.

I shot a LONG, approximately 3 GB video last night on my iPhone 6 and had this error come up ("Error – 2010 the movie contains some invalid data") and could not play the file in QuickTime, ITunes or RealPlayer.

I tried opening it up in my Windows Media Player and it worked! It would unfortunately not open up in my Sony Video editing software (movie studio platinum 12) but it did open up in Windows Moviemaker! As I type this, I am trying to save it as a WMV file (It's taken quite a while, as expected with a 3 GB video file) and hopefully can drop it into my Sony video editing program and check out the quality, get it ready for YouTube etc.

So, surprisingly, it took a Windows player and editing program to open up an Apple file LOL! Strange computer world we live in :)

Hi

One of the movies I shot with my phone (.mp4) during the team meeting we had last weekend, seems to be corrupted because the SD card got full during filming.
I've tried some applications already, but none worked so far.. Anyone who can hint me to some kind of repair program? Or is there anyone here who thinks he can fix this? The reward is the scoop of quite a funny movie
