For a long time, I’ve been dealing with the games I install to my mother’s iPad, that suddenly show her attractive ads and, no matter what I tell her, she keeps engaging with them and ends up opening Safari tabs or the AppStore. Thankfully, I have the AppStore purchases restricted, but it is still pretty annoying. She engages with ads because they give her coins (or whatever currency the game has) and according to her, sometimes even more entertaining than the game itself.
After years, she’s tired of her current games. This are the type of games she plays:
She plays to a few G5 games which have many “adventure map” mini games, not only match 3 but also “spot the object” and others… Games such as Jewels of Egypt or Hidden City. Are there similar games with minimal or non-intrusive ads?
Other genres she enjoys are match 3 games, of course, and shooting balls games such as Bubble Witch 3. Any suggestions with minimal to no ads? If they are paid upfront I may consider purchasing them, depending on the price.
She also likes shooters like Sky Force and the sequel.
And finally, she used to enjoy classic Genesis games, I’ve been considering installing her an emulator, but sadly, most of this games require a controller in order to be played well.
Any recommendations, even for new genres, are welcome.
No, for now I’m not subscribing to Apple Arcade, because they raised the price to 7€ per month and if I unsubscribe at some point, she’s gonna ask me to give her back her games.
