I have my daughter's iPad mini 5 (unknown iOS version). It has been sitting for the better part of a year. It does not show up on FindMy. She does not remember the 4-digit code. How can I reset it? I tried what I thought was her Apple ID password but I was wrong. I am in NY and she is half way across the country and not reachable. I want to trade it in and upgrade her as a surprise.

So I got her password but I am locked out for 15 minutes and still don't know the 4-digit code.
What is the next step when I do not know the code? I don't have iTunes on my Mac. How do I force reset or erase and enter the password to reset it?

It is a right pain in the backside though as I know from personal experience.
