Stopped by this afternoon; the business specialist that I've done business with called me to tell me he had them in stock.

He retrieved an 11.6 and a 13.3 for me to look at; the 11.6 had 2 GB, 64 GB, with a 1.4. The 13.3 had 128 GB.

I did some random stuff with each model, not so much for seeing how well it performed, but to get a feel for which model that I wish to acquire.

We timed restarting the 11.6...from clicking on the restart button to a full desktop after reboot took a little over 17 seconds.

My contact in the Apple store did not tell me how many of each model they had in stock, or the specs. The only two models on display were the two they brought out for me to look at. The store was pretty busy, but no one else came over to look at them while I was in there (for 15 minutes or so) which surprised me.

For the record....I had convinced myself that I would be going with a 13", but after spending a few minutes with the 11", I became a convert.

I'm going to order it the first of next week.

.

Same here...I think. Went to Toronto Eaton center retail store about a half hour before close tonight. Had every intention of just picking up the 13 since the 11 held no interest for me and I'd been waiting a very, very long time for the new 13 inch updated version.

They had two 11s and one 13 on display and I could only really get at one of the 11s to check it out. I was thoroughly charmed by the 11 and when I finally got a chance at the 13 (5 minutes before close) I was suddenly all "Oh Jeez, I dunno anymore.

Before I knew it they were hustling people outta the store and I was walking outta there empty handed.

Guess I'm gonna have to sleep on it.

Most Canadian university Apple retailers don't have them yet (being ordered on Monday!). Apple Store Toronto has them.

All stores in Arizona are stocked up.

I'm angry though, as they don't offer 4gb in store... I find that stupid.

Hey guys!
Do you think it's possible that the Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York has the 13 inch model with 4 GB memory, or is it only availible as CTO from the web store? I've got relatives travelling to NY next week and it's much cheaper to buy it in the U.S. than here in Sweden...

no stock and it is not in the display yet, Friday Evening. 22nd Oct.

It's available and on display in the Washington Square Mall store in Tigard. Bridgeport Village also said they had them but I didn't check if they were on display.

The 5th Ave store in Midton Manhattan has plenty of model Mac Book Airs and also plenty of base model to sell, but they don't have nay 4GB models. I spoke to the Apple Sales Guy, he said they would be getting shipments next week (Friday-Saturday ish) of 4GB models.

Pineville, NC (south Charlotte) Best Buy just got them in yesterday and had both the 11" and 13" models to look at. They were actually hidden behind a booth (not on display), but you could play with them and / or purchase on request.

What was interesting for me was that the 13" model felt lighter in my hands; probably because the weight per square inch is probably lower than in the 11" model. Build quality on both was superb.

Regardless, both were impressive performers. The 64GB 11" model was demo'd multitasking and it did not skip a beat. Very impressive.

Best Buy carries the 4 standard versions (2 for each size) only. You cannot mod them (ie, add memory or faster processor).

MN Apple Store has the new MBAs

I just purchased the 11.6 base model form the Apple Store at Rosedale Mall if anyone from the MN area is looking to purchase. They had just received them last night!! We threw a little WHOOP WHOOP party after my purchase!! So excited I am setting it up now as we speak!! I am on my MB right now though as I just got home from the Apple Store!! There didnt seem to be much of a diff in the screen than the 13 was. I was just going to give in and get the MBP luckily they had arrived last night!!

The Apple store told me today that starting next week they should have 4GB models in stock in the store.
