I will wait until the beginning of 2007... you get the best of both worlds.

1. A Rev. B Intel Mac
2. Pre-installed iLife '07 and Leopard

That's almost $200 right there. Also by then there are finally acceptable HD capacities for notebooks out. 120GB just isn't cutting it...

I'm really interested to see the new form factor. I'm sure there's gonna be a whole new look and feel to these intel machines. It should be a similar aesthetic transitions to that of G3 to G4 PB's/PM's and G4 to G5 PM's.

There should also be some really good deals on refurb machines at time of release if anyone needs a cheap PB!:D

I will buy a rev. A Intel Powerbook, if I have the money by then.

I need one for grad school next fall so I may not be buying until September - but the rev. As might still be around then.

I'm not worried about early adopter issues - I've had problems with rev. C Macs and rev. D Macs so bring on the rev A.

What logic is that?

It is like "I've got my left hand and right hand bitten off by that zoo lion when I tried to feed it hotdogs, but I have no problems sticking the hotdog on my weiner and sticking it into the enclosure:rolleyes: "

That's kind of my thinking as well. Although I don't see myself buying a laptop per se, I will be waiting until 2007 until I buy my next Mac so that I can get a nice dual-core Intel system utilizing Conroe/Woodcrest, iLife '07 pre-installed and who knows, maybe Leopard pre-installed!

That'd be a screaming system... considering they said end of 2006/beginning of 2007 for Leopard, we might get lucky. :)

Yep - I'm holding out for a Blu Ray drive and 1 GB of RAM standard as well, and probably a 500 GB HD or so.

No, Hell No on Rev. A Intel Laptops

We will not buy rev. a intel macs. The software will most likely not be ready that we will use so why bother?

I *will* buy the Rev.A AppleIntelBook. Well, not completely true, I will submit my product specification recommendation to the IT guy in my Unit and he will pass the purchase request to my Management Support Unit who will ask for 3 seperate quotes, or publication for tender in the Official Journal of the European Union if the price is getting around 50000Euros. Having passed thru' the various layers of bureaucracy I expect to get my hands on the Rev.A just as everyone else will be playing with the Rev.B, but I will be getting *someone else* to pay for my Rev.A.!!!

I'm currently using a Key Lime 466MHz iBook 128Mb 10GB Hdd, so I might see some performance improvement!??!

My IT co-worker is ready and primed and also wants to see what the x86 OS X experience will be like, but he's happy to leave the onerous maintenance tasks to me. Latest rumours indicate a June kick-off, but that might just be "spin"??

I have a funny suspicion that in a short time all Powermacs will be quad.

What can I say, I'm a risk taker....

My rev. C iMac had issues, so how did I escape troube there by not buying the rev. A? I'm not worried about rev. A Powerbook problems, that's all.

I'm going to make my Rev. C PB 17" last until the Rev C PB Intel 17" comes out. I never trust Rev A and only somewhat trust Rev. B products.

Well I thought buying the latest(?) of the G4 powerbook would give me a sweet machine with all pbms in previous rev having been sorted out which I could have kept for the 1st 18/24 months of the Intel transition... Instead I got one (refunded since) with marvellous lines on the b***dy screen!
So right now I think the rev A won't be any worse and I hope it's out soon.
