I don’t have a laptop, just a 14 Pro Max and an M1 IPad Pro 12.9, but I got myself one of these chargers purely for fast top ups whenever I’m away.

How about giving us something in this "article" that's not in the tech specs? Like, how hot does it get when running at full tilt? And how is the build quality?
Agreed! I don't get these Macrumors 'articles' that offer nothing other than a rework of a product press release. It's just lazy. If you're going to do an article about something offer some perspective/insight that I don't get from going to the products web site.

But … wow, I miss the power indicator light. Anker’s latest is missing it also. It’s super handy when you can’t tell if that airport outlet, hotel outlet or random actually has power. It was a great visual on Anker’s early adapters.
Because the phone charging/not charging isn’t a big enough clue? :D

The watt rating naming game is such a joke. If I made a charger with 1000 ports, each outputting 0.25W, I could call it a 250W charger. The marketing teams for this product segment should be politicians.

I have had this Hyper 4 USB-C 245 watt charger since their kickstarter campaign and it’s worked great for me. I agree with everyone who talks about just killing off USB-A. So this is nice for those wanting to go all C. It’s a bit heavier than the other 150-ish watt variations I have tried (from Anker) primarily, but I never worry about power distribution or anything like that. It’s my go to for iPad Pro + Windows laptop for work + iPhone + AirPods/watch.

$150 is in the range. It is not a box that plugs into a wall directly — needs an included cord — but I personally prefer that when you get to these heavy devices that may not stay solidly connected to well worn outlets in hotels and airports for instance. For my wall warts I always carry a one-foot grounded extension cord for that reason. Plus you can squeeze into to tight outlets and power strips.

Anyway, just a positive experience from someone living with this one for a few years now. And yes I know about the recall of another Hyper power device (which I also had and sent back). I assume with this one in the field this long, it’s been deemed fine.

Finally start seeing devices putting more emphasis in USB-C ports. I get the one USB-A port for legacy support but more than that you're burdening your product going forward as people keep converting their cables to USB-C.

It's insane that in 2023 a 2000€ EcoFlow power station has 4 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C. Now that, is planned obsolescence.

I still have multiple devices and cables that use USB-A for power. It’s nice to have that as an option.
Just cables. Every device that uses USB-A for power can equally use USB-C.

Invzi has been working for me for a couple years now... AND... it has adapters for traveling to other countries
If they’d JUST turn that last port into USB-C. I don’t even care if it’s only 18-30W, still one less cable/adapter.

"When charging multiple devices, Nomad's power adapter is able to intelligently split power. With two devices, it sends 100W to the top port and 30W to the other port..."

Um, no. "Intelligent" would be more like letting me plug devices into whichever ports and sending them the power they ask for. You've implemented a hardwired switch.

Don't disagree... that model has been out for a couple years. Hopefully a USB-C only version is on the horizon The current one has worked well for me... I typically travel with iPhone, iPad, AirPods and Watch Ultra. Phone and iPad charged daily, others as needed. I actually carry another, my wife has a nice "kit" but often forgets ;)

Always hedge your bets and get one with international adapters is my plan

I hadn’t heard of this company, but there are some nice products on their website, and they seem reputable.
Nomad is great! They have been around for quite a while and the one time I had an issue they stood by their product. I've also bought some watch bands which I love (nice material and clasping mechanisms).

Finally! A 3 port fast charger that looks like it isn't from 2010! All the others I've seen have ugly graphics and color combos and of course a random USB A port.

I'll stick with better and cheaper option with ugreen and baseus. I would recommend them
I had a Ugreen charger that I hated. When my devices were charged, it would oscillate turning power on and off, making my devices "ding" every few minutes to indicate they were reconnected to power.
