All of that is fine, until you start to insult phablet users. You want a small phone? GREAT! Options are awesome, but the problem here is your idea that phablet users are somehow stupid for their choice in phone is annoying.

Also ever considered the fact that people want small and thin rMBP's because it's good for them? It isn't about being "weak' or "girly" it's about not killing your back when you have to carry a **** tonne of stuff in your bag for college anyway( you of course decide to generalise again)

OP is ignoring this little bit isn't he?

I'm not ignoring it, I think Phablet users are silly, sosumi as the OS X sound goes. You don't have to agree with me, in fact I don't want you to, but you're not going to change my mind.

You could try to convey your opinion with far more class. That's certainly an option.

He is indeed. I made that point three times, didn't respond once.

It's still almost as ridiculous SEE: the picture above... as I said I'm also a one hand phone user, if you don't like it feel free not to comment, thanks.

The amount of Phablet users who have small phone envy makes me lol.

So your self esteem derives from the size of your phone and the image you portray to people whilst using it?

Anyway just another soon to be Phablet user who makes his purchase decisions based on his own needs as opposed to the factors above. Silly i know.

Yeah no, I said it was ridiculous for a number of reasons, the size in comparison to the size of your head is one. Not being able to operate the damn thing single handedly is another.

Talking into a taco isn't much fun either... It reminds me of the days when people tried to talk into a Nokia Ngage. They should start selling phablets at Taco Bell along side your favorite Android topping.

Well to many people one handed use isn't important. Shocking right?

I'm not america and never been in one but considering Google's penchant for code-naming Android after sweets and deserts, do you realise that you may have accidentally stumbled on something here;)?

Again as so many have said, just get what works for you. As long as people continue to buy Phablets they're going to continue to be made and boundary's are going to continuously be pushed. Great thing is you have a great deal of options to choose from to buy a phone that is more suited for your needs.

Yep, just like why they invented S sized xbox controlers... Some people actually care about usability.

Yesterday I was checking out a Starmobile Play (Philippine-branded) that goes for under $70. I too have been searching for a compact phone with a QVGA display TO VIEW my 360p videos better and neither of my big two have memory card slots and my sub-HD videos looks too pixelated on FHD. Seems reasonable with those loud Yamaha speaker and 2000 mAh which is quite reasonable large for that form factor. But the reviewer had a hard time texting on the 4-inch display and said it is better for teenagers. I say once you get into 4.7-5.2 inches, typing would be faster and going back to those smaller screens will feel so cramped.

Your best choice is Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, last year's Moto X, Moto G, or Huawei Ascend P6 or P7 for their thinness. Get a 4.5+ inch screen at least.

I have no issue with typing on a 4" screen, I don't have fat hands... That's half the issue with why I don't want a fat phone. I'm thinking a 4.5" to 5" phone will be fine.

I do really like the form factor of the iPhone 5. I also like the look of the HTC and Sony options. If I went with an Android phone I'd want something I could install vanilla Android on easily, preferably without having to rootkit the thing.

Then you have the options, stop calling phablet users idiots then! Let us enjoy our own devices, keep your damn opinions to yourself!

I'm looking at upgrading my iPhone 4 finally and I'm not interested at all in this whole phablet thing and I don't have American hands either so I don't need a fat phone.

Where can I get myself a sensible phone these days that doesn't look like I'm holding a tablet to my eat like every other idiot?

I'd buy an iPhone 5 but they're already outdated. I don't want any phablet recommendations thanks.

American hands? Really? WTF?? Really? (By the way I am not American)

Your hands may not be fat phone ready but holding a tablet to your "eat" indicates maybe you could use a larger phone....

On a more serious note, get the Sony Compact Z3 if you are so concerned about your delicate digits and want an android phone.

----------

That's OK, I lost interest the first time I saw someone trying to hold a galaxy note to their ear also and I thought to myself what the hell are you even doing? Is this a comedy skit that thing is as big as your head.

Ya know I used to feel the same about the Note when I first saw it, now I plan on getting the Note 4.

I think the thing that is irritating me about your posts is the insanely judgemental and baiting tone ESPECIALLY coming into an "alternatives to" forum, knowing that a majority of those alternatives ARE larger phones and phablets that we choose to enjoy and having you waltz into the forum with insulting remarks under the guise of asking for advice here.

It looks to me that if you truly wanted unbiased and helpful advice, you would come in respectfully and ask it without the need to sling insults to the community.

And trust me, I took the high road with my reply here.

I've gotten the help I need, the rest of it is friendly mudslinging towards Android users who are rarely holier than thou themselves.

Mudslinging is easy, you may have gotten help but you truly need to get more from outside sources.

Geez. Mods, I think this thread has ran its course
