Coupla things: the movie itself is a visually dreary affair, shot at whatever the opposite of 'golden hour' is. I think Ridley just said to the colour graders: "make it sepia." Also, while production values are fantastic, the historical inaccuracy really annoyed me.

Apple had a brilliant opportunity here to make something quite astonishing. It should have been a six or eight-hour TV series, edited down to a movie. There are huge chunks of Napoleon's story missing (like his entire Italian campaign), and scenes where major characters are introduced who then never appear again. A TV show covering the full, complex story of Napoleon and his major battles could have been the most epic thing ever made. And it's not like Apple can't afford it. Ho-hum.
Glad to know most people feel that way. It mostly felt like those scenes with actors on a History Channel’s documentary. Uninspired and lazy, with some inconsistent action-movie-like war scene.
I have no idea how that happened, considering the budget and the people involved.

I'm not one of those people looking for extra historical accuracy because after all it's entertainment.
But this movie was needlessly wrong and the overall portrayal tone was completely off.
And in the end all in all not even really fun.

Totally illegal, not to mention wrong. Why don’t you wait till it’s rentable and pay the few dollars that a rental costs, instead of being a thief who simply takes things that other people spent millions to create?

Illegal where? I guess it is fundamentally wrong but in the grand scheme of things it's nothing. I very much enjoy accessing everything on Netflix, Disney, HBO, Apple etc without paying anything and just as easily as on those platforms.

It's okay. Some people struggle to grasp the concept of intellectual property. Some are blatantly immoral, but more often, they're actually unable to see the difference between downloading a pirated movie and paying for it. Most lack a fundamental understanding of how creative industries work. It's difficult to explain to them because they don't have the intellectual capacity for learning. Sometimes we just have to accept that not everyone can grasp complex subjects.

Oh I fully grasp the concept (with both hand none the less!), but I don't care. Being aware of something and abiding to something are different things, no? Or is that too "complex" for you?

Phoenix has been on my no-fly list since his poisonous tirade at the Oscars in 2020. He’s ostensibly a great actor but actually I think he just plays himself most of the time. This could be the best movie in the history of the world and I still wouldn’t watch it.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I didn't want to hastily conclude that you're blatantly immoral without solid evidence. Instead, I'll reiterate that perhaps you don't fully grasp the issue at hand. It's understandable if it's challenging for you; complex concepts aren't easily accessible to everyone.

I do believe I have the intellect to comprehend the intricacies of piracy, a capability you might not share. However, I don't presume to have the persuasive skills to convince you, especially when the entire creative world has yet to find a way to effectively communicate these concepts to individuals like you.

It's clear that some people are simply beyond reach. That's a reality we have to accept; there will always be those who act as thieves in society. Many are just incapable of recognizing the wrongdoing in their actions.

I thought you were being sarcastic haha!

So it won’t be the 4 hour cut? Smh. I was looking forward to it after seeing it in theaters

One would have expected an Apple TV+ film to arrive on Apple TV+ a lot earlier ….
The decision isn't entirely up to Apple. Sony (Columbia Pictures) is the movie distributor.

Perhaps they wanted to stick to the old 90 day theatrical window before making it available on Apple TV+ (or any other streaming service)

Stealing is precisely what it is. You may as well have asked why they should bother making movies at all if people refuse to pay to watch it. Why bother paying for food if you can just take it from a shop without paying. Go away and learn to think.

Aren't you the guy who was upset because an actor was fired for sexual misconduct?
