Seems Apple is making the same mistake Microsoft did by releasing on a certain date instead of when the OS is actually ready for public release. Maybe Apple will have better luck in the next 21 days to get rid of as many bugs as possible.
or, it's ready, and that's the release date.
It's nowhere near ready if you go by all the bug posts still being made here.

Your post does not have any base whatsoever. DP8 is as stable as OS X has ever been. And there are always bugs.
DP8 may be stable for you and many others, but that does not mean there are not still some serious bugs and deficiencies. Just ask the many users having issues with Exchange still and Disk Utility that is still a joke compared to its former self. Hopefully with the GM Candidate release many 3rd party apps will begin to see updates because there are many that still are crippled under El Capitan. I'm not saying Apple won't get the job done, I'm just hoping it doesn't blow up in their face.
"which is why there will be 10.11.1, 10.11.2, etc. there are always bugs. if developers waited to reach perfection, we'd have no software to run, and no OSes to (not) run them on."
Yeah, yeah...I saw that other reply. Still some major bugs for an initial release.
Don't you like how they didn't even mention El Cap on Tuesday? Could have even been, "Oh, one more thing, El Capitan will be available for download on Sept. 30th. And now, to perform for you live, is One Republic." Sheesh
who cares? they discussed what they chose to discuss. what's your point?
There is absolutely no chance it was a mistake. Apple's keynotes are very heavily scripted and rehearsed.Btw.: Do you guys think it was a mistake that Craig showed this email or was it on purpose? I can't believe it was a mistake but the email seemed to be real including the "internal information only".
I'm sure they make sure to edit what is at the top of the inbox so nothing that they don't want to be public is public. I'd guess most if not all of the emails in there are ones that were sent just to have something that isn't important up on screen for the keynote.Btw.: Do you guys think it was a mistake that Craig showed this email or was it on purpose? This is an odd release date as new iOS 9 users (released on the 16th) won't have any sync compatibility with notes that needs to be upgraded on el capitan which is released 2 weeks after!
I would of thought iOS and OS X would be released at the same time so everything is very seamless/Apple, full user experience, etc etc
