I'm thinking of getting a 64Gb runcore for my MBA. i have 3 or 4 months left on my Apple warranty. Should I wait until then to upgrade? Do I lose the warranty if I install a SSD myself?

thanks

Apple won't warrantee the SSD (but Runcore does) but as long as you do not damage your machine installing it or the SSD does not harm you machine the rest of your machine stays warranted.

If you are worried about damaging your machine, third parties like Best Buy will have Apple certified techs swap out your drive for a nominal fee ($50)

I'm confident I can make the swap, I just figured it would void the warantee on the whole machine. Glad to hear that is now true.

Thanks!
