tsialex, one more piece of information you may know the answer to (or someone else?)... what connectors do I need I bought the eVGA 680 02G-P4-2687-KR (2GB). I have read a few posts, some say 2 x 6pins, some say a six and an eight? I am wondering is it possible the 2GB has a lower power draw? Any ideas, I see you have the 4GB.

02G-P4-2687 is the PC version of the Mac Edition, essentially identical, and uses 2 PCIe 6-pin.

Only the overclocked models use 6+8-pin.

Hi, I am in the same situation now. I got a Mac Pro 3,1 recently, and I am running Mac OS Mojave at the moment. It has the original 8800 GT in it, I would like to upgrade the GPU. What is the most powerful GPU this Mac and run with Mojave? Is it GTX 780? What about GTX 780 Ti? Are those plug and play? Thanks everyone.
